Although it might seem as a harsh place, the desert has always had this feeling of charm and peace. Its rolling dunes and sun-bleached Hammada or stony desert are not barely dead, as they boost life with camels, hedgehogs, jerboas, fennecs, sand fishes, dorcas gazelles, tiled lizard and many other desert wild species.

Stylish Tanneries of Fez.

Wearing genuine leather clothes do not come as easy as it might seem to. The hides of goats, cows, and camels undergo plenty of phases before it is ready for human use.

The processes include removal of flesh & hair, soaking those hides in vats( which you can see in the picture), then dried and rinsed before handing them over to leatherworkers to tan them with natural colors coming from pomegranate, Henna, Safran and other plants and minerals.

The tanned hides you can find hanging to dry on the terraces & roofs of the Medina are on their way out of the maze of Fez to be used as Babouches, Pouffes, embroidered bags and plenty of other goods which you can find for sale in the Old medina antique stores.

Fez tanneries provide how the people have developed their practices in medieval times.

During exploring the tannery, you simple need some MINT TEA to hold to your nose so as to soften the smell of leather undergoing the process of tanning.

Morocco has this extraordinarily dramatic changing of sceneries. The geographical variety does surprise its travelers & visitors, making a patchwork of mountains, sand dunes, hills and plains, beaches and coastal windy destinations.
Majestically, nothing can be amazing than the desert, a complete no landscape where you can find anything interrupting with your life. Most Moroccan deserts are surrounded by oases and massive dunes, but beyond all those mudbrick Ksours & Kasbahs that stand as way of life of the people of the South.
The simple symbol of the Sahara desert is patience as manifested by the slow going camels and mint tea making. Caravans, back in time, used to go by those rose-gold dunes transporting commodities between Niger & Europe while Morocco was one of the places that they cross over.

Since the arrival of Moorish people in Morocco, the country has boosted its own artistic designs. Fountains, Riads, Quranic schools in Morocco are such evidence of this geomorphology, every piece of mosaic( zellij), cedar wood carvings, and plastered roofs stand as representatives of the Moorish Andalusi art. These works can also be apparent within the Islamic works as well as manifested in Quranic schools.

Morocco makes a passage migrant for migratory birds. The Sahara desert of Morocco is referred to as long distance intercontinental migrant between Europe and West Africa.

Many bird species can be spotted along the migratory season as partial migrant flamingos and other waterbirds in the desert’s shallow lake. Perhaps, other desert birds can be detected in its huge sand dunes, desert warblers and sparrows, Egyptian nightjars, and blue-cheeked bee-eaters, are among the local birds that are making spectacular breakfast tweets!
