My last day here today - 7 weeks - which included the most terrifying and unforgettable experience. But we are safe and so many are not.
Saying goodbye to all these flowering climbers that have grown over the past 15 years to cover the terrace seating area. All being chopped down for building repair works to be done following the earthquake here. They will grow again of course. Feeling very blessed and SO lucky. Dar Louisa will be more gorgeous than ever! ❤️❤️❤️

Even through all our recent dramas and the earthquake catastrophe, our wonderful and treasured continued to produce these culinary delights for us. She never repeats anything, except when begged. And carries on looking after us and making life here a dream. The best team ever. 🙏🙏🙏❤️

Visited again this afternoon. It’s where I celebrated a big birthday 20 years ago. has changed a lot. It’s a huge town now with wide paved roads, modern buildings and banks - none of that was there when I first went. We’d have to drive 40 mins to if we wanted a bank. Gorgeous pool, lovely swim. And still the old familiar Danish library and dining room with its Venetian chandelier - incongruous and charming. An extraordinary place in such an unexpected setting. ❤️❤️

And while the painter works, I am spoiled with this lunch, almost too beautiful to eat. Almost. Fish with divine Moroccan salad, and a cucumber wrapped salad, all chopped so tiny, a feast for the eye and the tongue. Thank you - another culinary delight ❤️❤️❤️

Oh what heaven it is to be back here, even in this baking August heat, 47c, it is total bliss. Forecast predicts cooler weather next week …. But these perfect lunches that Fatima Taliby produces, are as much of a treat as ever. Thank you Fatima and Mohamed always for being so amazing. Mohamed has installed a hearing loop system in our TV room today so I can hear as clear as crystal!
