Eid al-Fitr, first of two canonical festivals of Islam. Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting, and is celebrated during the first three days of Shawwāl, the 10th month of the Islamic calendar (though the Muslim use of a lunar calendar means that it may fall in any season of the year). As in Islam’s other holy festival, Eid al-Adha, it is distinguished by the performance of communal prayer (ṣalāt) at daybreak on its first day.

The Chouara Tannery in Fes is one of the oldest leather tannieries in the world. Animal hides are washed and softened in a concoction of quicklime, salt, cow urine, pigeon p**p and water before being transferring to stone vats of dyes, where they are swirled around by men, standing waist-deep in the coloured water. The skins are then hung up or laid out to dry in the sun. If you are in Fes, it is quite a sight (and smell!)

Chefchaouen is a relaxed and charming place to spend a few days, shopping and experiencing local life. The blue walls are incredibly attractive and it’s no wonder why Chefchaouen is the most photogenic town in Morocco. Taking some good photos is definitely an excellent reason to visit Morocco!🤍☀️🌍
