Thank you to all of our wonderful clients that sent emails and messages checking to make sure we are all ok after the devastating earthquake. We appreciate you!
Update on current status…One small section of the wall of the Medina in Marrakech was damaged. The majority of the Medina was unaffected.
The majority of the damage was in small Berber villages in the High Atlas Mountains. These are not typical tourist areas, so only the locals are affected by this tragedy. Please keep in mind, locals rely heavily on tourism. Without tourism, many people affected by this situation will take longer to recover.
Please know your tours to Morocco will not impede the recovery processes…choosing to cancel your tour to Morocco will, however, cause financial hardship to local families during a already difficult time.
They have projected two weeks to clean up the areas affected by the earthquake. So please feel confident to move forward with your travel plans and know Morocco appreciates your tourism.
