There are things we shouldn't forget

I always knew and believed that only a pen can heal the wounds. It's nearly one week since I and my colleagues came back from a zone that is only 50 km from the earthquake hypocenter. A lot of questions should be asked! Am I alright? Is the rescue team alright? Were we trained to do what we did?
The answer is yes and no!

Our first day, driving from Tafraoute heading to taroudant having no idea what it's like in there, every member of the team was excited and full of energy to do what it takes to save lives. I Personally thought that what we gonna find are people stuck under the ruins screaming for help, "we can do it, I believe in us, we can dig, break the walls, we have the strength" those were my thoughts.
Once we reached Taroudant, we start to see walls with cracks, some parts of the old walls had fallen, but the modern buildings are fine. Not a big thing!
We had arrived finally at Oulad Barhil where we had met our information source finally; a real hero, all his concern is to help the affected people.
Our concern was his village, "my village is fine comparing it with other villages , I want to take you to village where no house is still standing" our source said. The first village was Igr ouflla, the time refers to 22:00 no electricity, no lights people using phone torch only. It's dark beyond darkness.
The buildings were of pressed mud and rocks were totally destroyed; people, those whom still alive, sleeping under the olive trees in their fields sharing few covers that they have succeeded to get from the modern houses that had not totally fallen! You can feel fear in their tone of voice, in their eyes, they are hopeless! All they ask for is help; food for the kids, clothes, covers, medical care and medicaments for the sick ones. We had to explain our mission but, still not an excuse to leave them just like that. People had serious disease before the earthquake and had been following a cure before, diabetes, tension, heart problem and asthma. All their traitements and prescriptions were buried underground except for few of them. We made a list of the health issues they have and medicaments they need so the rest of the team that will join us next day will bring it for them especially the rescue team doctor is among those members.
The people told us that they had dig for the people, 8 deaths, but one person is still missing.
