PLUS, we also added a Trip Planner functionality. We do understand that once you see what Montenegro has to offer, you want to do everything! Trip Planner is there to help you shortlist accommodations, adventures and Points of Interests that you don't want to miss out on!

Once upon a time, there was a man in who cared deeply for the beasts of burden. He created a special place for these animals to not only receive proper care, but also for them to be able to bring happiness and healing to others.

This story is now available to travelers through the app both as an accommodation in Martinici Village as well as through the "Points of Interest."

Be sure to add the Donkey Farm Martinići to your list of adventures or accommodations in the trip planner on the app. And, take some apples and carrots on your way to return some good to Darko and his animal friends.

In celebration of , we added a little something to the Meanderbug App–a community garden in Podgorica, Montenegro.

Our team has been meeting with city leaders for a couple years and working to launch a community garden with food forest. We signed an MOU in December 2021 and started developing the Urbana Bašta Podgorica this Spring. We have already had hundreds of volunteers participate and planted hundreds of trees and plants. Something special is starting to take shape. Add this "point of interest" to your "favorites" on the app so you can come help out or at least enjoy this developing nature haven in Podgorica.

Meanderbug has always been different. More social enterprise than business, we were one of the first to advance rural tourism in Montenegro. Our drive was to create a different story to bring good to locals and travelers. So far, we have impacted the Montenegrin travel culture by advancing the farm stay concept, designing locally sourced compost toilets, promoting katuns, developing hut-to-hut adventures, and more.

Over the past several years, things have developed and we have seen a shifting need in the market. For this reason, we are reworking our business model to provide more on-the-go information for travelers. We developed our new Montenegro Travel App as a tool to help plan and execute the whole adventure. The Meanderbug App opens up rural travel options even more while making it easier for travelers to put the pieces together along with the more popular sites to visit.

"We've been getting your messages about bookings for 2022 and we have a big announcement to make...

Meanderbug 2.0 concept.

We are taking a modern approach to travel after years of experience in promotion and facilitating bookings.

Over the years we've learned and adapted, all in order to make rural tourism sustainable for Montenegro and our partners and accessible for travelers from all around the world.

Key changes are listed here:

1️⃣ Meanderbug will be switching from website-based booking platform to The Montenegro App for adventures and experiences in Montenegro AND upcoming new version of the website for travel information and helpful tips in order to support your cultural immersion!

2️⃣ We will no longer be taking on bookings through platform. All of your inquires for 2022 have been addressed and we will be helping with planning your trips. Even though it won't be possible to book through Meanderbug directly, you will be able to find most of our partners on the Meanderbug app using list and map views for your convenience. Most of their bookings will be operated through Airbnb and Booking.com. We are working with some amazing people to keep the level of satisfaction at the Meanderbug level!

3️⃣ We have always been committed to people, environment and adventure. Therefore, through Meanderbug app we will not only be offering hiking trail navigation, rafting booking information, fly fishing locations and booking information... We will continue to actively work with locals on mapping new adventures and building hikingmtrails in a sustainable way that benefits everyone.
