THE GREATER BAMBOO, ONE OF THE WORLD'S MOST CRITICALLY ENDANGERED PRIMATES
The Greater Bamboo Lemur (Prolemur simus) which has been discovered in 1986 in Ranomafana rainforest, where there are considerable quantities of the giant bamboo (Cephalostachyum viguieri).
The Greater Bamboo Lemur live in sympatric with the other species of Bamboo Lemurs such as the Golden Bamboo Lemur, Ranomafana Bamboo Lemur, and Grey Bamboo Lemur. This species feeds almost exclusively on Cephalostachium viguieri bark which contains cyanide and kills most mammals and fungus, while Golden Bamboo lemur prefer the shoots and leaves of this giant bamboo to avoid competition.
It is among the species that are under the greatest threat. The habitat destruction by slash and burn agriculture (Tavy) and the cutting of bamboo are the major threats to Greater Bamboo Lemur.

DRONGO FIGHT
As is case of many other species, similarly, the mating season is a very important time in the life cycle of the Madagascar Drongo. Driven by an urge to procreate, as well as the need to locate a suitable partner for this task, occasionally, the Drongo males will engage in a battle with one another in a mortal conflict for the rights to a female. It is rare, however, to witness one of these conflicts taking place on the ground level.
