🍁Isalo National Park is situated in the southern part of Madagascar, on the national road 7 (RN7) approximately 80 km from Ihosy and 270 km from Fianarantsoa, in the municipality of Ranohira. Spanning over 81 540 hectares, the park is renowned for its striking rock formations, deep canyons, natural pools, and exceptional biodiversity.

🌳 Mangroves are special coastal forests that are in danger. They're like nature's superheroes, protecting our coasts and helping marine life thrive. But, sadly, they're at risk because of things people do. It's time for all of us to learn why mangroves are important and how we can keep them safe.
🌳 We need to protect the mangroves because it's essential for us. They stop the sea from eroding our land during storms and provide a safe home for many fish and animals. They also help fight climate change by storing a lot of carbon.
🌳 There are lots of threats to mangroves. Some things we do, like building too close to the coast, polluting, deforestation and farming, harm these amazing places. When mangroves disappear, it's bad for our environment and for people too.

📍 BABAKOTO | INDRI INDRI 🐒🇲🇬

🐒 I Aban'i Koto, également connu sous le nom de Babakoto, est célèbre en tant qu'Indri, le plus grand des lémuriens encore vivants aujourd'hui. Son pelage, souvent noir et blanc dans les régions d'Andasibe et de la réserve spéciale Analamazaotra, est caractéristique. Contrairement à d'autres lémuriens, il possède une queue réduite à un moignon. Cette particularité, notamment chez Babakoto, est étroitement liée aux récits locaux le présentant comme un ancêtre sacré et parfois même comme le père des hommes.🍀

🍀 Une légende raconte qu'un jour, un enfant d'un village parti chercher du miel dans la forêt fut secouru par un Indri après être tombé d'un arbre où il récoltait le précieux liquide (miel). L'Indri, agissant comme s'il s'agissait de son propre petit, le porta sur son dos. À la recherche de l'enfant disparu, les villageois furent guidés par les cris plaintes de l'Indri. À leur arrivée, ils ne virent qu'un Indri et son petit, supposant que l'enfant avait été transformé en lémurien. Dès lors, l'animal fut nommé Babakoto, signifiant "le père de l'enfant" car Baba = père et Koto c'est le nom de l'enfant. Pourtant, il devint tabou (fady), bénéficiant ainsi d'une protection particulière de la part des populations locales à Madagascar.🍁🇲🇬

📍Discover the Fascinating World of Madagascar's Largest Carnivore: The Fossa 🇲🇬🌿🐾

🐆 The fossa, also known as Cryptoprocta ferox, is the largest carnivorous mammal in Madagascar, sometimes likened to a puma. Adults measure 70 to 80 cm in length from the snout to the base of the tail, and weigh between 5 to 10 kg. Males are heavier than females. Its semi-retractable claws enable the fossa to climb and descend trees headfirst, and the animal can also leap from tree to tree. It primarily feeds on birds 🦆, lizards 🦎, rodents, insects, and occasionally lemurs 🐒 and other animals.🦔 It exclusively inhabits forested areas and actively hunts both day and night. ☀️

🤩 The fossa has the widest geographic distribution among Malagasy carnivores. It favors the dry forests of the northern and western parts of the island, being relatively rare in the central regions. Preferring to live alone or in small numbers. It's worth noting that the species, often considered dangerous and harmful, is still hunted by local farmers who blame it for attacking their livestock. 🇲🇬

🇲🇬 Madagascar, surnommée l'Île Rouge, est une terre d'une incroyable richesse culturelle, abritant dix-huit groupes ethniques distincts, également appelés tribus, qui sont principalement malgaches. Chaque groupe chérit son identité individuelle, ses traditions et sa culture, contribuant ainsi à la mosaïque vibrante de la société malgache. Bien qu'une langue officielle commune unisse la nation, des nuances et des variations dialectales peuvent exister, enrichissant ainsi davantage la mosaïque culturelle unique de cette île de l'océan Indien.🌍

🍁Aujourd'hui, plongeons dans le monde fascinant de l'ethnie Sakalava, qui s'étend le long de la côte ouest de Madagascar.

🍁Leur nom, traduit comme "ceux de la longue plaine", signifie en réalité "la longue terre des Saka". La province de Saka, d'où est originaire le terme Saka, est située sur la côte sud-est de l'île, où les principales familles Sakalava ont leurs origines avant leurs migrations successives et leur installation dans l'ouest de Madagascar.

👑Le Royaume Sakalava est le plus grand parmi tous les autres groupes ethniques, s'étendant le long de toute la côte du pays, d'Ambanja au Nord à Toliara au Sud. Cette vaste étendue rend l'unité difficile, conduisant à une division en deux groupes : la dynastie Sakalava Boina au Nord et la dynastie Sakalava Menabe au Sud.

🐒The ring-tailed lemur, also known as the Maki Catta, is a tree-dwelling primate found exclusively in the tropical forests of Madagascar. It is characterized by its slender and agile body, a very long prehensile tail, and an elongated conical muzzle.

🍀 Its large eyes are orange-yellow, with small triangular and tufted ears, and a small pink tongue. Its fur consists of thick gray hairs on the back, white underneath and on its face. Its tail is ringed in black and white, and the bare parts of its body such as the muzzle, eye surroundings, and hands are black.

🐒In terms of size, it typically measures between 39 and 46 cm in height, with a tail that can reach 56 to 63 cm in length. On average, the Ring-tailed lemur weighs about 2.2 kg. These relatively modest dimensions make it one of the most recognizable and studied lemur species.

🍀 This creature exclusively inhabits the dry and humid tropical forests as well as the arid scrubland of the island. However, as a diurnal and arboreal animal, it warms itself in the morning sun in a remarkable sitting position and spends its day feeding and interacting.

🐒The Ring-tailed lemur primarily feeds on fruits, leaves, grass, bark, flowers, and sap. It supplements its diet with small invertebrates such as insects like grasshoppers, locusts, worms, and spiders, and also feeds on various plants.

🍀It is a sociable and gregarious animal, living in groups of 3 to 20 individuals led by a dominant female. These troops consist of females and their offspring, immature males, and 1 to 3 adult males.
