Air Asia announced that effective 1st August 2022, the Ministry of Health in Myanmar requires all guests traveling to the country to have a negative Covid-19 Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) result issued within 48 hours before arrival to Myanmar for those who are fully vaccinated OR a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result issued within 48 hours before arrival to Myanmar for those who are unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated.

Before Departure
COVID-19 Requirements
For Myanmar Nationals:
🟥Fully vaccinated travelers are required to present a negative COVID-19 RDT test result issued within 48 hours before arrival.
🟥Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated travelers are required to present a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result issued within 48 hours before arrival.
For Foreign Travellers:
🟥Fully vaccinated travelers are required to present a negative COVID-19 RDT test result issued within 48 hours before arrival.
🟥Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated travelers are required to present a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result issued within 48 hours before arrival.
🟥Travelers must fill out and submit the Health Declaration card upon arrival
🟥Travelers are required to purchase COVID-19 insurance prior to their travel here.
Visa Requirements
🟥All travelers with the exception of Myanmar nationals are required to possess a valid visa to enter Myanmar. Visa-On-Arrival (VOA) and Visa Exemptions for all countries have been suspended since the COVID-19 pandemic.
After Arrival
Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated travelers:
🟥All travelers who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated must undergo an RT-PCR test upon arrival
🟥All travelers who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated must quarantine for 3 days at their own cost if the RT-PCR test results are negative
Fully vaccinated travelers:
🟥Travelers must undergo an RDT test upon arrival.
If the test results are negative, the travelers will be able to continue on their trip as normal.
🟥If the test results are positive, the travelers will be isolated, transferred, and treated at a designated hospital/treatment center/hotel.
Face Mask Policy
Guests are not permitted to use the type of mask that is fitted with exhalation/breathing valves. This is in line with CDC, WHO, and CAAC 6th Edition Safety Recommendations on Prevention and Control Measures During Flight.
