The Philippines' oldest Islamic worship site, Sheik Karim al Makdum Mosque, is a National Historical Landmark and a National Cultural Treasure. The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Festival (端午节 Duānwǔ Jié), falls on the fifth day of the fifth month according to the Chinese lunar calendar. It is a traditional holiday that has been held anually for more than 2,000 years to commemorate the Chinese poet, Qu Yuan. The celebration holds various customs and activities but the most popular tradition is the Dragon Boat Racing. The holiday in China will be from June 20 until the 22nd.

We're flying to Doha in just a few days and it's a pretty exciting addition to our growing number of destinations! One thing we'll look forward to upon landing in the Hamad International Airport in Doha is a series of interactive bronze art installations by Tom Otterness called "Other Worlds." They are spread throughout the passenger terminal, and will no doubt engage children and adults alike. We heard it's designed as a playground and an art piece at the same time.
