Women farmers at Maaden El-Ervan during the henné harvest.
Maaden is an Oasis and an eco-village of the Adrar Region.
It provides each year tons of vegetables ( mainly carrots) and henné to the capital, Nouakchott.

The Richat Structure in Mauritania is not what you think it is. Characterized by concentric rings surrounded by dunes, “the Eye of Sahara” was initially thought to be an impact structure but geologic studies reveal it is actually an uplifted geologic dome, also known as a domed anticline.
