One of the swales at the Food Forage Field is looking amazing. When we sit and look closely at what nature is doing, how it regenerates itself, how it stores energy for growth..... its amazing.
Although it might not look as "neat" as a monoculture Field, in each swale we find incredible layers of Biodiversity and examples of easy regeneration techniques. Soon we plant a 100 trees. If you want to join as an individual or a team, feel free to contact us. This Field is an experimental module that makes learning new methods of farming easy.

Swales vs Soil Erosion
Swales vs Soil Erosion.
3 months ago, we introduced 400 meters of Swales in the experimental Permaculture Food Forage Forest. Home to a variety of edible and medicinal local trees, shrubs and plants.
Swales help with water harvesting, soil preservation and more.
They need little maintenance and help boost yields.
In a few moons, the soil here will be one full of nutrients and all sorts of opportunities for growth. The trees are also very happy during this time. As we keep on planting, we look forward to update you with all the latest updates on the this area.
