PeaS Unlimited

PeaS Unlimited Sustainable projects in Malta. PeaS Unlimited plants peas and nurtures them. But we take care not to over nurture.

A pea is a plan, or an idea, that grows socially improving and/or sustainable fruits. The goal is to nurture them by connecting people, resources, knowledge, experiences and tools. We stimulate natural growth, the way of least resistance, in example of nature itself.

Not happy news, but we stumbled upon this article and discovered Grist.org, which is great source! Check out their website.

We love their tag line: "Grist is a beacon in the smog — an independent, irreverent news outlet and network of innovators working toward a planet that doesn’t burn and a future that doesn’t suck"

Report shows governments aren’t backing up their clean energy talk.

With more electric cars on the road everyday, many wonder: why no solar cells on the roof and bonnet? Here is why you hardly see it at the moment and why it will happen in the future.

Spoiler, it has to do with technology improvements and costs.

Many people ask why dont we have solar panels mounted on the roof of electric cars. In this video we explore why. We also look if it is feasible to put panel...

We so much hope this to be true! It would mean a huge leap!

But remember that tech can only solve part of the problem. We also need change in mindset, consumption and politics to create a fair and sustainable world.

But there’s reason to be skeptical.

Knowledge is needed to motivate change. But it takes courage to really want to understand what is going on. I'm afraid most people can't open their eyes to this.

There is a lot of suffering in the world and there is going to be a lot more. What is there to do besides hanging on to the last remains of hope and optimism and creating and/or becoming part of a society that is capable to adapt to whatever the future brings?

Become part of a solution. Learn to feed yourself and the people near, building your own and generate what you need.

It's not going to be fun nor easy, but I have no choice because in a couple of years I have to be able to look my daughter into her eyes and explain what is happening and what I did to make the best out of it.

Maybe time for a new slogan, because "planting ideas today to harvest a better world tomorrow" doesn't feel realistic. "Planting ideas today to harvest something worth living for tomorrow" maybe?...

It's time to drastically change our diet. Will you?

In follow up on IPCC's report from Monday, the Guardian writes today:

"The researchers found a global shift to a “flexitarian” diet was needed to keep climate change even under 2C, let alone 1.5C. This flexitarian diet means the average world citizen needs to eat 75% less beef, 90% less pork and half the number of eggs, while tripling consumption of beans and pulses and quadrupling nuts and seeds. This would halve emissions from livestock and better management of manure would enable further cuts.

In rich nations, the dietary changes required are ever more stark. UK and US citizens need to cut beef by 90% and milk by 60% while increasing beans and pulses between four and six times. However, the millions of people in poor nations who are undernourished need to eat a little more meat and dairy."
