Lunch at is so convenient, situated exactly between the school and tuition centre, where I teach. Great service, delicious menu items including specials and a proper coffee to finish it all off.

Another huge water cistern situated underneath the Auberge de Bavière, along Triq San Bastjan (St Sebastian Street) in Valletta. This was built in 1696 by Fra Gaspare Carniero, Bali of Acre, on the same site of a lime-kiln that must have been used continuously during the construction of Valletta.

The making of lime required copious amounts of water and this huge cistern would have been excavated to serve the lime-kiln well before the palace was built around it.
