The house is a historic building of original design in Malta. The restoration focused on facilitating all modern amenities, yet still preserving the character, and charme of a Maltese traditional townhouse.
In the mission to contribute to celebrating the magical beauty of Gozo, we seek to embrace the traditional way of living on the island by keeping original features, and furniture.
High ceilings, exposed wooden beams, traditional limestone slabs, and tiles of finest craftsmanship - our whole house is filled with the historic atmosphere of ancient Maltese times.
What might be beyond, you kind of naturally intuit when gazing at the enchanting entrance doors and balconies in all these tasteful, delicate colour palettes, elaborate ornamentations, and good amounts of genuine, mellow patina.
Whereas most tourists are left with their imagination and guesswork while strolling through the historic centers of Maltese towns and villages, you get a chance to open that beautiful green door π , have a look inside, and even better - call it your home during your stay on Gozo. π
Behind the walls (and in fact, the walls themselves) are indeed treasures that merit landmark status, and should in our opinion always be protected and preserved by heritage conservation.
In all rooms you will find the historic Maltese stone flooring that was constructed in a 300-years-old, very complex pouring process, each tile individually handmade, to create lovely patterns in a big range of variety.
The warm-colored limestone is one of the most defining features of the Maltese Islands. With the oldest free-standing temples in the world, history was etched in limestone, and of course it is the material the big slabs of our houses are constructed of. Paired with the abundance of sunshine, it really tints our lives here on the islands with a soft golden glow. βοΈβ¨π
