While looking for our Gibbons we came across the much rarer stump tailed Macaque. At times I was not sure who was watching who, as they seems to be just as interested in us as we were with them.

Though I would share some of the dramatic landscapes taken in the Himalayas.

Also a big shout to our Homestay for looking after us..on the last full day while we watched the two snow leopard, they brought us out breakfast and lunch (both hot meals which is needed in the cold) along with so coffee and masala tea to keep us going.

Andrew Goodall from Nature's Image for handling all the photographic challenges so we'll and Pradeep Singh our local Indian connection for putting this all together for us. A great team with great success.

We will be posting lots of photos in the comings days but this time my cellphone phone just was not upto the challenge but don't tell Andrew Goodall I said that.

Lastly to our travel family for joining us on this whole India experience, thanks once again for your trust in me and as always we hope to have you all back with us soon.

A few photos thanks to our guide Pradeep Singh.

Spent a few hours in the Hoolongapar Gibbon Santuary to track down the Hoolock Gibbon ( Indias only ape species and the smallest of all the Gibbons) as well as a few other primate species. This is my best footage using my cellphone but I am sure all my guests got even better. We were also lucky enough to find other monkeys including the very rare stump tailed Macaque and pigtailed Macaque which I will post photos here a little later on.

A couple of cellphone pics from our afternoon game drive. This mom had a mad a kill and then went off to fetch her three 20 month old cubs (sub adults) and were very playfull and happy to know dinner was served while mom decided to just plomp herself in the pool of water and take a moment for herself.

I must say the park itself is beautiful and I am enjoying the landscapes just as much as all the majestic creatures that call it home.

Got to Love India.

Very misty morning game drive in a beautiful park. Distant sighting, but I can tick off tigers on my list. We're here a few more days so hopefully a bonus close up view still to come 🐅

A monument of love and a grieving emperor's ode to his beloved deceased queen. He wanted to create paradise on earth for her final resting place. With the perfect symmetry of the buildings, perfect marble work using only the very best materials and a once orchid and flower filled garden with perfumed fountains, he came pretty close.

Ventured into Delhi over the past 2 days to visit the spice market, catch a lift with a rickshaw and walk through some of the older parts.
What an experience! Overwhelming sights and sounds as people hustle through their daily routines of organized chaos. The rich aromas of street food and bags of open spices on display. Ho***rs going constantly and rickshaws and tuc-tucs weaving through pedestrians in both directions. The old and the new perfectly blended.
Also on the itinerary were visits to Jama Masjid mosque, the peaceful Raj Ghat where Gandhi was cremated and Qutab Minar. What an interesting site! Constructed from a plundered Hindu temple, the architecture encompasses both Hindu carvings (with all the faces destroyed) and Muslim calligraphy.
And in between we even charmed a few snakes!

Something very special about dinner around the fire under a brilliant sky with millions of stars. The camp fire is always the center of any camp from true camping to ultra luxury. It talks to our primal beings and even when it's very hot the fire still attracts us.

In modern times most lodges in wilderness areas will have a BOMA. Most people from Africa will describe it as a enclosed eating area with open sky views around a central fire. Most will go on to explain that the fence around the BOMA is to protect the dinners from wildlife or weather, but that is not true. The word BOMA is actually an acronym for British Officer Mess Area. This comes out of the Frontier and Zulu wars, where officers would enjoy fine dinning while the army they commanded lived off field rations. The fence was to protect the officers from prying eyes.

I for one am very glad this luxury has continued, and I hope to sit in a BOMA and share safari tales with all of you very soon.

On my last tour we spent a few nights at Nambiti. We had the privilege of seeing these two brothers twice during our stay. They were very active and clearly looking for some lady companionship.

Always a pleasure to see these magnificent animals. Got to Love Africa
