Kasungu National Park Tour🇲🇼
Our visit to Kasungu National Park began with an air of excitement as we ventured into its vast wilderness. The park’s golden savannahs and serene dams were alive with wildlife. We observed a pod of hippos lounging in Lifupa Dam, and spotted graceful antelopes darting through the bush. The peaceful atmosphere and raw beauty of the park made the day unforgettable.

The next morning, as we started our journey home, we decided to take a detour and hike Ngulu ya Nawembe Mountain. "Ma hikers kungoona phiri you think of kulikwera". The trail was steep and rugged but offered stunning views of the surrounding plains. We saw Kamuzu's house. Each step brought us closer to the summit, where we were rewarded with breathtaking vistas of Kasungu’s endless landscapes. The sense of accomplishment was exhilarating, and the mountain’s quiet beauty left us in awe.

By the time we descended, our legs were tired, but our hearts were full. The combination of wildlife exploration, food🤪, drinks, sunrise, sunset and the challenging hike made the two-day adventure an incredible journey through Malawi’s natural treasures.

Did you know that we have beautful places in Mzimba District? Tikwere Adventurers lodged at Kawandama guest house, inside Chikangawa Forest with fresh and natural air. The house is made of wood with everything in it. During the day, we had to hike "Elephant Rock" from the back. Elephant rock is popular known with its front looks like an elephant. Hiking Elephant rock is not as easy as it appears, it took us about 60 minutes to reach at the peak. Visit Chikangawa and Kawandama, if you find time..

On 7th Sept 2024. Tikwere Adventurers team managed to hit 20 km walk from Likuni to Malungunde Kamuzu Dam I & II. It looked simple during the 1st 1 hr but the challenge was not for the weak. Lets congratulate Leonard Gondwe our Tikwere Adventurers member for visiting one of the world greatest water falls "Skógafoss." Skógafoss is a waterfall on the Skógá River in the south of Iceland with a width of 25m and a drop of 60m. Congrats to one of us Linda Kapanda for making it way far Mount Kenya. She joined a group of Kenyans through the outdorers on a one day hike on Mount Kenya. Their target was to summit Mackinders through the Teleki Valley reaching altitude of 4200metres. This was part of the preparation programme for those that are doing a 4day Mount Kenya hike this coming July.

One word from Linda "A hiker always moves prepared."
