Tiyende Safari & Tours on a 3days 2nights of Liwonde National Park

Although only 220 sq miles (580 sq km), Liwonde is perhaps the most popular of all of Malawi’s game parks, with its beautiful riverine setting and teeming wildlife offering thrilling safaris. It is about 100 miles (160 km) north of Blantyre and only rather more than half that distance from the hotels on the Mangochi Lakeshore. Wildlife viewing is enhanced because the River Shire flows along its western border, allowing boat safaris as well as the usual ones on foot or in 4x4s.

Wildlife includes quite large numbers of elephants and the river attracts countless hippos and crocodiles. Lion, cheetah and wild dog have been recently reintroduced into Liwonde with the aid of African Parks who took over management of the Park in 2015 and who continue to turn Liwonde into a first class safari location. Antelope include kudu, sable and bushbuck. Leopards, hyaena and black rhino are also occasionally spotted. Birdlife is exceptionally varied. The river attracts fish eagles and weaver birds build their nests in the thin woodland. Pel’s fishing owl is often seen at dusk along the river’s edge.

As well as the safaris and its beautiful scenery, Liwonde offers a wonderful cultural experience through visits to one of the local villages just outside the park boundary.

Tiyende Safari & Tours shall take you to the Luangwa Valley on a 3days 2nights from Lilongwe 🇲🇼

South Luangwa National Park in eastern Zambia is a hotbed of wildlife activity; this game rich park has one of the largest concentrations of wildlife in Southern Africa and is home to Africa’s most famous wildlife and scenery. South Luangwa supports large populations of Thornicroft’s Giraffe, and herds of elephants and buffalo often several hundred strong. Look to the river and you will see vast numbers of crocodiles and hippos. It is said there are 50 hippos per km of the Luangwa River, with at least 6000 in South Luangwa.

The Luangwa River, Zambia is the most intact major river system in Africa and is the life-blood of this 9059 km² Park. The Park hosts a wide variety of wildlife, birds and vegetation. The now famous ‘walking safari’ originated in this Park and is still one of the finest ways to experience Africa’s pristine wilderness first-hand. The changing seasons add to the Park’s richness, ranging from; dry, bare bushveld in the winter, to a lush, green wonderland in the summer months. There are 60 different animal species and over 400 different bird species in South Luangwa National Park.
South Luangwa National Park is home to 4 of the big 5. You can spot elephant, lion, leopard and Cape buffalo at the park.

Lion and leopard are common in the park. South Luangwa has even been coined as the “Valley of the Leopard”, this most secretive cat can be readily seen lounging in the trees and skulking in the shadows. Wildlife viewing at South Luangwa isn’t just about the big 4, there is so much more to see…

At every turn, you will see one or more of the parks 60 animal species having what looks like a friendly gathering. Fictitious images of antelope grazing with zebra whilst Vervet monkeys dig for fruits is a reality. Such a sight epitomises the African safari.

The birdlife in South Luangwa is also extraordinary, with about 450 of Zambia’s 732 species being recorded at the park.

No matter what you want to see on safari, there is a strong chance you will see it at South Luangwa. There is an abundance of wildlife and the setting is absolutely stunning.

Cape Maclear or Chembe is a town in the Mangochi District of Malawi's Southern Region. The town, on the Nankumba Peninsula, is on the southern shore of Lake Malawi and is the busiest resort on Lake Malawi. Cape Maclear is close to the islands of Domwe, Thumbi and Mumbo Island on Lake Malawi and is in Lake Malawi National Park.

Surrounded by forested mountains, it’s known for the sandy beaches and granite rocks of Lake Malawi National Park. The park shelters rich wildlife like antelope and baboons. Its clear waters are populated by hundreds of species of colorful cichlid fish. These are visible at dive sites such as Otter Point.
