I remember when I moved to So Cal in 2002, I was wearing shorts and t-shirt in January it was a beautiful 65 out! I saw ppl in UGG boots and literally parkas I was SO CONFUSED! I was 20 years old and could NOT understand how they were cold! In my head I'm thinking...Do you know it Iowa it's not 65 it -20 !!!!! Then....

About 7 years ago in January I remember going to My Paradise here in Puerto Morelos in sweatpants and a hoodie and everyone was like ...but you are FROM Iowa!! I'm like yeahhhh but haven't LIVED there fir 15+ years (then)

It is funny to see this in an illustration because it's VERY true here!

Had my first ever tour today with a couple that found my Facebook live stream of a walkthrough I posted and immediately wanted to see the home!

BIG NEWS!!!!! 🎉 Real Estate industry here I come! Yes! A little more info below!

I am working along side Puerto Morelos Rentals with Jess Jiménez and her amazing team!

I have known Jess for over 8 years and have seen what she has built here in Puerto Morelos! I am so proud of her and what she has done! We have both built businesses that have a great reputation for trustworthy businesses in the community of Puerto Morelos! 9 years ago today I accidentally arrived In Puerto Morelos! The short story... Pic 1 is Nov 11th Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz Pic 2 is Nov 17th my 1st foto I can find of me on the beach in PM. I have a whole story I'm writing but I just can't get it done in time today. I have my last day with my mom and and we are taking photos together today! I can't wait to share more of my story with you but in the meantime.... a short version!...and yes this is the short version!

I drove across 18 states of Mexico with 5 people I had just met on a Saturday night party in Rosarito....we drove across Mexico 5 days later. I was living in San Diego and going to TJ & Rosarito on the weekends. They were talking about how they got dive jobs in Cancun. I had met this group of people because I did the jetpack in Rosarito, now they were driving to Cancun in a few days! In the midst of their conversation I said that I would drive with them. The entire room looked at me like I was crazy and asked me. If I realize how far of a drive that is? I remember having no clue that Cancun was even in Mexico. I looked at a map and I said you're right, that is really far! So I decided that I would just go with them to Mexico City and then come back to San Diego. Little did I know I would keep going with them. Everyday we would wake up they would ask me, are you still going forward with us or are you turning back? I remember thinking well, I'm too far to turn back now, I may as well just keep going. I had my two dogs Peace Out and Sassy with me and they had another car that had four people in two dogs as well.

I found out in Veracruz that we were NOT going to Cancun but a small fishing village called Puerto Morelos and I was pi**ed!! I was thinking I just drove all this way thinking. I was going to a big city and now we're going to a small fishing village? You've got to be kidding me. 😫 I am not a small fishing village type a girl.....lol.....little did I know!!! Hahah. I remember thinking well. I'm too far to turn back anyways so may as will just keep going....

I remember we arrived and I had four days staying with my new friend Noes family! Yes that's Luz and Genaro! I remember Luz Cooking for me and telling me I could stay as long as I wanted. After driving across 18 states and taking 16 days to drive across Mexico. Sleeping on floors in my hammock and my car and very uncomfortable situations. I just wanted my own space. I was at the time sleeping on her couch with my 2 dogs.

Noe had a friend that had a contact with studio apartments. And I ended up renting the studio apartment for a month for $300usd on the beach and it was between Dreams and Excellence Resorts.

I ended up loving the place so much and falling in love with Puerto Morelos that I had decided fly back and quit my very well paid job sell all my things in San Diego, Fly back to Iowa and say goodbye to family. I arrived back officially moving to Puerto Morelos January 7th 2016. I stayed in that studio apartment for 6 months and had turned it into an airbnb rental during that time.

I have so much more I want to share but I have ti stop it there for now. This is my random shirt story how I ended up in Puerto Morelos and I am so happy I am here!

Side note: I was scared this whole trip because people from back home had me so scared and I had a anxiety attack in Monterrey Walmart parking lot when I realized the rest if the trip we would be driving farther and farther from the border. I would love to redo this drive with out the fear I had then.

We drove almost 4,000 miles with 6 people, 4 dogs, 2 suvs across 18 states of Mexico! One if the best random decisions I have ever made!

I'm so glad I get to help you explore and know Mexico and now (as some of you have seen) working with Real Estate in Mexico! I'm excited for this next step in my journey with My Trish Advisor and thankful for all of you that have followed me along this wild ride that I am still trying to figure out what I am doing!

Again this is the short story....ha!

On October 27th, the 1st day, it's celebrated in some areas, that we welcome back our beloved furry friends who've crossed over to the other side. My own sweet angels, Peace Out Dog (23 years young) and Sassy (18 years young), will be joining the pack, and I couldn't be more excited to feel their presence again.

Peace Out Dog, the gentle soul who touched everyone's heart, and Sassy, my loyal companion who trusted only a select few, including me, my, mom & hubby Diego. They will forever be in my heart.

Day of the Dead reminds us that love never dies, and our connections remain strong beyond this life. Let's honor the memories of our faithful companions and cherish the time we shared.

I went on an unexpected 16 day driving adventure across 18 states of Mexico in October 2015. I did not "plan" to live in Mexico. I knew nothing about this country. I only knew that it was dangerous and the cartel for drugs was here.....Oh and tacos, tequila, sombreros & Mariachi too!

WOW MEXICO you are SO MUCH MORE!

My heart is so grateful for this place and people and yet so sad. I am sad for people that think the same as I did before. What lies they listen to (not just about Mexico) and how they're hearded like sheep.
