1. Early morning light runs through all the photographers as honey to the eyes. Conner looking to the east for signs of weather or just enjoying life

Few days of surf uncrowded waves in swells that doesn’t register on the data display on internet but is kind of obvious once you have surfed the area for a many years.

Was lucky enough to have with his camera and shot this pics, when coming we can visit his surf store in town.

This waves are like beachbreak but they are a pointbreak so they behave similar without the backwash that will slow down the wave, instead will have a under water rip that will jack up the wave and make it stay open. Love to jumó under the lip and enjoy the ride.

Taking pictures of waves for around 20 years with high frequency during the golden years of the sandbars. Are they coming back? Have it gotten that good again?
Well watching amazing swells pass by and some lows as well I can say that greatness is always around the corner. Shifting sandbars, prevailing winds and strong ground swells are the main ingredients for the coast that handles the movements and cycles with an sublime surrounding giving each wave a characteristic style and nature.
Back in the day of the vhs surf movies, where landscaping was hidden, shapes of waves were the main focus.

Saw them breaking in the same spot, each one of them. Even the old known points have something new to deliver.

Wave season starts usually around march, though is pretty normal to see swells all year long. The question, what marks the beginning of the season?

Probably swell direction and conditions of sandbars, common winds during winter are as well the gap winds that can blow up to 40mph drifting aside the shore in opposite side of swell creating contrast and swiping down the energy of the swell, fisherman will say, as soon the Norte (east) comes and leaves in the oceans shaves down its waves. This means sandbars are being trimmed and good conditions for any swell to hit can happen.

Entangled with the memories before the season starts and we already had some taste of the sandbars in the last swell of January.
Please comment how big it looks and if it’s Makeable

Looking back to the first season I got the job to register the biggest swells and sandbars through many surf trips in between Salina Cruz and Huatulco área.
Moving with the wind and arriving before sun we always aim towards the barrels those type of ones that speak and mutate while you share the frequency and intensity of the energy breaking into the shallows sandbars. Something about the solitude; it will speak to you in a way that will make you understand and enjoy more the present moment. It will slow down time and imprint in your mind forever, bending time.
