El Tiburon Ballena es tiburón más grande que existe en el mundo. Es junto con las ballenas (de ahí su nombre), los animales más grandes que nadan en los mares. Llega a medir hasta 12 metros de longitud y pesar más de 18 toneladas. Es una de las tres especies de tiburón que se alimentan mediante un mecanismo de filtración de agua y se alimentan casi enteramente de plancton, contrario a las demás especies de tiburones famosas por ser carnívoras.
