Our home is located on a beautiful white beach, with crystal blue water and the Meso American Reef just 200-300 yards offshore. The bird watching is amazing!

You can relax with a book in the hammocks or engage in the wonderful watersports waiting at your doorstep! We invite you to check out our home on VRBO and AirBnB. We feel this is the perfect place for peace and relaxation, right on the Caribbean Sea! It is far enough from town to make you feel as if you are in your own private paradise. . .but still close enough to the town of Mahahual (about 12 m

iles south) to ensure you can easily enjoy all the restaurants, shops, etc. Plus, you are only a day trip away from many cultural activities. . .or Belize! The Meso American Reef (2nd largest in the world) stretches just off our beach about 250 yards - perfect for kayaking, snorkeling, diving, and fishing! (We are one of the best locations on the beach to access the reef.) Their is a small beach bar and kite surfing school next door. What more could you ask for! We love this area of Mexico and feel confident you will too! This will one day be our retirement home, but in the mean time, we would love to share it with you! We are so excited! Two turtle mamas chose our beach to lay their eggs last night. Hopefully we’ll have lots of babies joining us in September. I can’t wait! Aren’t they beautiful?!

The talents of Samuel and Veronica never cease to amaze me! I found the root on the top of this mirror along the beach road & knew I wanted to do something with it…but I could not decide what/how. They brought my mirror idea to life - even better than I imagined! Then, they crafted a vanity table & a small bench (not yet pictured) to complete my little dressing area. It is absolutely lovely!!

Want to see the sites on the way to Casa Costa Cristal? We love the Akumal area as well and it's a nice stop between larger tourist destinations. . .and about an hour and half closer to Casa Costa Cristal. Check out the Monkey Sanctuary, swim with the turtles in Akumal Bay, explore a cenote, and enjoy the local restaurants.

I am a bit delayed sharing this. . .but it is almost as exciting reliving it! I have always loved all things ocean/beach/water related, but I have never had the privilege of seeing sea turtles hatch until now. This video is a bit long, but it shows the release of some the hatchlings. The sargasso in Mahahual at this time was quite thick; so, in order to give the babies the best chance at survival, we had to gather them and release them beyond the accumulated sargasso. These were from the nest on our beach; so, we hope to see some of these guys come back and lay more nests in years to come! Maybe you can be there to see the Mamas lay their eggs OR to see the babies hatch next year!

Another great thing about Casa Costa Cristal….Hayhu Beach Club is right next door! Check out the views this afternoon. When you visit, you have to check them out. They are wonderful neighbors with a beautiful little beach club and fabulous food and drinks. They also have a kite surfing school - fun to watch or give it a try yourself!
