To all our friends visiting Huatulco,
Welcome!

I would like to share information regarding the cost of transportation to and from the airport. It has come to my attention that there is some confusion as to why the prices within the airport are higher than the prices outside the airport. It pains me to think that some think they are being cheated. 🚘
I would like to explain why there is a difference, in hopes that you will understand we are not cheating you. The services within the airport are higher for various reasons.
In order to pick you up within the airport, we have to pay 200 pesos each time we enter the airport grounds. We also are required to have a special federal license, federal plates and our vehicles need to pass inspections on a regular basis. Our drivers that pick you up are authorized and need physical and psychological medical exams to obtain a license to transport tourists. The certified tourist guides not only attend many hours of school to receive their official tourist guide credentials, but also attend classes in first aid to handle any possible emergencies.
We also have different vehicles, different insurances, different licenses and different taxes. These are some of the reasons it is more expensive to be picked up within the airport grounds.
It is fine if you would like to hire a cheaper way to be transported to your destination, but please do not think those of us that offer the service to pick you up inside the airport are cheating you. The price may be a bit higher, but it is because of the reasons I have stated and the difference in services.
You can also be assured that when directly contracting with authorized local transportation you are supporting the local economy of Huatulco’s tourism industry. During the high tourist season in Huatulco, there are many people from other areas that sell tours and offer services without authorized permission and licenses. When you book with us, you know that you are getting authorized professional tourist guides that take very good care of you.
We want you to enjoy the beauty of Huatulco and all it has to offer from the minute we pick you up to the second we drop you off.
