Espátula Rosada/ Roseate spoonbill

The roseate spoonbill (Platalea ajaja) (sometimes placed in its own genus Ajaja) is a gregarious wading bird of the ibis and spoonbill family, Threskiornithidae. It is a resident breeder in South America mostly east of the Andes, and in coastal regions of the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, the Gulf Coast of the United States.

El pasado fin de semana fueron destruidas 57 hectáreas del manglar de Tajamar, en Cancún, Quintana Roo, pese a las protestas de algunos ciudadanos y organizaciones que denunciaron la devastación del humedal, en el que aún se observan cocodrilos y otros animales.

"Destruyeron 100% de la vegetación, mataron animales, no hicieron rescate de flora y fauna, muchos animales murieron, pudimos entrar y todavía hay animales vivos".
