Cerro del Mono – Monkey Mountain Hike

This is a 4 ½ to 5 hour adventure

* This adventure starts in Bucerias - we will arrange a meeting place
* Travel together to Higuera Blanca where we will begin our hike through the lush tropical jungle.
* The hike is only about 2 km long, starts about 40 meters (131 ft) above sea level and finishes at about 349 meters (1,145 ft).
* The trail is rough but is still suitable for people of any age in good condition. We will be hiking through the jungle under the canopy of magnificent trees to near the top and then scramble the last few meters up the rocks to the summit where we will have breathtaking views of the coast and jungle. At a very easy pace it will take us about 1 ½ hours to ascend we will spend about 45 minutes at the top enjoying the view and taking photographs and the descend will take about 1 ¼ hours.
* Optional stop at Kilometro 5 for food and drinks before returning to Bucerias.

Minimum no of guests 2 maximum 10.

Las Animas Adventure Hike - This is a 6 or 7 hour adventure

* Meeting Point: Emiliano Zapata Colonia in downtown
* Take a public bus i.e. not luxury coaches to the traditional fishing village of Boca de Tomatlan.
* Hike from Boca de Tomatlan to Las Animas (about 3.2 km as the crow flies but with all the ups and downs and twists and turns of the trail we will actually hike around 8 km). The first leg of the hike is through tropical jungle from Boca to Colomitos Beach.
* Spend about 45 min’s cooling off and swimming there
* Continue the hike to Las Animas Beach. (On this leg we will be hiking on dense jungle trails and on beaches) We will pass the beautiful beaches of Playa Escondida, Playa Hacamiya and Playa Caballo beaches and from parts of the trail we will have spectacular views of the entire Bay of Banderas.
* Have a drink,relax, swim, eat, if you like for about 1.5 hours before catching a water taxi back to Boca for the return bus ride to Puerto Vallarta.

Petroglifos - Adventure

This is a 5 hour adventure
The adventure will start in Bucerias. We will arrange a meeting location. We will travel together to the entrance to the Alta Vista Petroglyph Complex, “Place of the Sacred Stones”. We will do an easy ½ hour hike thru the jungle to the Centro de Ceremonias La Pila del Rey, a natural pool formed by the flow of the Las Piletas River. In this magical place we will relax in the pools and waterfalls surrounded by stone carvings that were made by the Texcoquine People between 2000 and 2300 years ago and was used by them to communicate with the Gods. It is still used by the Huichole People for ceremonies and a place to pray. We will be in the Alta Vista area for about 2 hours before returning to Bucerias. We will have the option of stopping for a meal at Rincon de Guayabitos before returning to Bucerias.

Petroglifos, Aguas Termales, Fortuna de Vallejo - Adventure

This is a full 8 hour adventure.

Start point Bucerias -we will arrange a meeting location
We will travel together to the entrance to the Alta Vista Petroglyph Complex, “Place of the Sacred Stones”. We will do an easy ½ hour hike thru the jungle to the Centro de Ceremonias La Pila del Rey, a natural pool formed by the flow of the Las Piletas River. We will be in the Alta Vista area for about 2 hours before driving to the Aguas Termales de Nuevo Ixtlan where we will luxuriate in the stone pools fed by geothermal water that bubbles up from deep in the earth. This mineral pool experience relaxes muscles, boosts blood circulation, promotes sleep and reduces stress. We will be there for an hour or so before driving to Fortuna de Vallejo for a light dinner in the rustic Cocos Locos Restaurant before driving home again via San Juan de Abajo.
