On Cozumel Island there is a place called El Cielo, a protected beach where starfish live.

It is a sandbank that is located about 800 meters from the coast of Cozumel. Its crystal clear and shallow waters have cataloged it as one of the best destinations in the Mexican Caribbean for snorkeling and diving to admire its marine fauna.

Do you know…? 🤔 That Cenotes are deep natural wells. They constitute perhaps the most interesting natural phenomenon in Yucatan 🏝 Without them, the ancient Mayan people would have lacked sufficient water, as there are no major rivers or lakes in Yucatan. These wells were called ts'onot by the Mayans, and their literal meaning is hole or hole in the ground. 🇲🇽💦🏝

There are closed cenotes and open cenotes and you can find them in the Yuactán Peninsula

Did you know?... Tepoztlan means “Place of the Copper Axe” or “Place of the Fractured Rocks”, and is derived of the nahuatl tongue. Since the times of the aztec power, Tepoztlan stood as another neighbor town who payed tribute to that warrior town, and even though we count with such a historical fact, the origin of this place is as uncertain as mysterious.
