Our luxury screening room has a very large seating area for group movie nights and socializing. It can also be used as a family suite — the large couch becomes a queen-sized bed, with an extra sleeping area for a small child. A full bathroom is attached as well as a private beverage service area.

Lunchtime at 🌮
Elevated above the main palapa living area, the central dining table seats up to 12 guests. Our highly trained chef specializes in modern cuisine with Mexican flair. Vegetarian and vegan options are plentiful and the kitchen is equipped to make all types of homemade nut milks, cheeses, and sweet delights. The ingredients are sourced from local farms, including our own on-property gardens and greenhouse.

The work of Mexico City based artist Emma Boomkamp is showcased throughout the property at La Huerta. In our "Los Ojos" screening room, her long hand-woven sisal light sculptures hang from the ceiling and unfurl onto the ground. Inspired by the Mayan deity Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent, these lamps add a dash of whimsy and drama to the room.
At we take pleasure in showcasing artists with a deep connection and reverence for Mexican culture. Emma Boomkamp's work masterfully blends the ancient with the modern, a special style we show again and again throughout the property.

La Huerta was one of the first villas built in Playa Rosa, the heart of Careyes. In an effort to honor the original architecture of the legendary Jean Claude Galibert and the visionary founder of Careyes, Gian Franco Brignone, the original bones of the home were preserved.
For the new design, native Careyes architects Alex and Lorena Possenbacher created new structures on the property, artfully designed to complement the original architecture as envisioned by Jean Claude Galibert.
A homage to Surrealism and the visionary genius of Edward James with his magical gardens of Xilitlia, La Huerta is a lush oasis. Exotic plant specimens envelop and reveal curious objects, fantastical sculptures and stunning views; it is a monument of Ancient Futurism.

The massive plant fiber chandelier in the Grand Palapa is one of our favorite and most stunning features of . Like all of the lighting at La Huerta, this chandelier casts a soft warm candlelight glow at night. Its fibers move with dancing elegance when the breeze moves in off the sea. It is truly hypnotic.
Made with agave fibers indigenous to Mexico (the henequen and sansevieria plants) by Angela Damman and her community of artisans, it is truly a unique piece, made with passion and reverence to Mayan culture.
Based in Yucatán, Angela Damman art supports the knowledge of artisans and their families, helping these artisans breathe new life into their ancient traditions, and bring renewed vitality to their communities. One Angela Damman product can generate economic opportunities in several communities, and each one carries the mark of the hands that made it. Her ongoing collaboration with artisans in the pueblos of Yucatán, weaving their centuries-old knowledge with her contemporary design aesthetic, results in stunning functional art made entirely by hand, and by heart.

These artists are significant contributors to the landscape of Burning Man, creating some of the most magical and highly anticipated light installations of large proportion on the Playa every year.
