INTERNATIONAL WOMEN´S DAY...

The tragedy, the mobilizations of thousands of women workers, the demands for labor improvements and the demand for equal pay and rights, among other events, gave rise to the date that has been commemorated every March 8 since 1975.

Before the UN institutionalized this commemoration specifically, it was remembered as the International Working Women's Day since its conception and spirit of origin was purely unionist.

The day summarizes the workers' struggle carried out for decades by thousands of women workers around the world who proclaimed the recognition of their rights. They did so by marching through the streets of the big cities, which had already seen the architects of the social revolutions.

On March 8, 1875, hundreds of women workers in a New York textile factory marched through the streets of the city against low wages and the difference they suffered in comparison with their peers: most of them were paid less than half the wages of men.

DID YOU KNOW? THE CACTUS SANCTUARY

In La Paz Mexico Baja California Sur, there is the only cactus sanctuary and there are more than 50 species. This place is located on the road to San Jose del Cabo at km 53 coming from La Paz. It is an ejido reserve of 6 hectares that houses more than 50 species of cacti and other fauna more than 500 years old.

Some species have fruits and are edible (all species with fruits), others the body is edible (Biznaga or Nopal) and finally others are for medicinal use (Opuntia Cholla, combat fever, lophocereus schotti, treatment of gastric ulcers and treatment of diabetes, the tissue of Pachycereus cardon and pithaya agria is applied in insect bites).

¿SABIAS QUE? EL SANTUARIO DE LOS CACTUS

En La Paz México Baja California Sur, existe el único santuario de cactus y existen mas de 50 especies. Este lugar se encuentra en la carretera hacia San Jose del Cabo en el km 53 proviniendo de la Paz. Es una reserva ejidal de 6 hectáreas que alberga mas de 50 especies de cactáceas y otro tipo de fauna con mas de 500 años de antigüedad.
