¿Sabías que Miguel Covarrubias inició su carrera como dibujante de mapas para la Secretaría de Comunicaciones a los 14 años?.
Por su edad se ganó el mote de "El Chamaco" en el Café de los Monotes, que era frecuentado por un grupo notable que iba de Diego Rivera a José Juan Tablada.

Recordamos a Covarrubias, artista polifacético que se desempeñó como caricaturista, ilustrador editorial, muralista, museógrafo, diseñador escénico, escritor y más, a 68 años de su fallecimiento.

Our Story

The Dickinson Guest House is a business-ready hotel alternative that many appreciate for some affordable lodging in an otherwise pricey area of the city. Located within walking distance of the Expo-Guadalajara in Jalisco, Mexico, it is set up for room rentals or whole house short-term rental options. We have been a “second home” to many travelers for over 12 years as of 2019. Guest room choices range from the favorite standard single or double room, King room, King Suite with furnished and private balcony, and a quad suite with a patio and garden for family getaways with home comforts and for business-ready needed space for work. When a reservation is confirmed, your 4-8 digit entry code will be sent to you shortly in advance of arrival, eliminating the experience of busy and often slower hotel check-in times for the critical events held at the exposition center, and offering the added privacy for entry and departures 24/7. This has proven to be a big plus for groups of friends or business colleagues arriving on different flights, at all hours of the day As many guests tend to be visitors from around the world attending events at the Expo center, two pricing schedules are offered: one for breakfast, cooked to order for dining room or guest room service; the other for no-breakfast, for a reduced rate. Keurig coffee makers are in all guest rooms with Starbucks pods, along with a selection of teas, and snacks, for those on the go, inclusive of the room price along with plenty of bottled water. An equipped kitchen for storage or light cooking is also ready to be used by all guests. Surrounded by no less than 25 eateries serving international cuisines, as well as manicured parks on tree-lined streets, the scenery and cooking are a pleasant plus in this popular area of the city.
