For the headquarters of Houston Endowment Foundation, Kinetica engineered and fabricated a meticulously designed louver system, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and functional performance for the building’s exterior. The perforation size, angulation, and spacing of the louvers were precisely crafted to optimize thermal comfort, balancing light filtration and solar shading.

Inspired by the natural canopy of oak trees, the design produces a dynamic light-shadow pattern that complements the architectural vision of Kevin Daly Architects () and Productora (). This thoughtful design also contributes to the building’s net-zero energy performance, showcasing a seamless integration of beauty and sustainability.

Kinetica fabricated the GRG ceiling for Lantern House’s lobby in Chelsea, NY. Designed by Heatherwick Studio, the ceiling connects two towers beneath the High Line, featuring seamless geometry that merges with the park’s columns. Using advanced digital fabrication, Kinetica crafted lightweight GRG panels with double curvature shapes, ensuring precision and minimal on-site assembly through pre-installed anchor systems. Despite COVID-19 challenges, the project was completed in four months with remote coordination.

The OUM Wellness Center in San Pedro Garza García, designed by Pich-Aguilera Architects, aims to be Mexico’s first Net Zero Energy Building.

Tasked with fabricating and installing the High-Performance Concrete (HPC) façade, Kinetica used innovative concrete mixtures—Pervia and Resilia by Cemex. These panels, crafted to maintain both aesthetic and functional integrity, also enhance the building’s environmental performance. In a hot climate of around 40ºC, the porous concrete helps cool the air by absorbing rainwater, which evaporates naturally through the surface, lowering the temperature.

We were commissioned to produce 42 pods with a turbine-inspired form, each designed to protect six laser projectors. These pods represent a significant challenge due to their varying orientations and unique shapes, which were meticulously engineered.

The seamless outer shell, crafted in aluminum with a flawless double-curvature was free from visible welding lines, aligning with the demanding aesthetic and functional standards.

For the EQUUS 333 motor lobby, we fabricated and installed a metallic spine that creates a striking connection between the towers at ground level. This sculptural structure is crafted from 500 custom steel pipes uniquely curved to create seamless intersections and an impressive visual flow.

Every pipe was carefully fabricated in our workshop, where we pre-assembled the entire spine to ensure flawless alignment and continuity. The spine was divided into transportable segments, which our expert team re-assembled on-site to bring the vision to life.

The molds for the Skyspace were designed and fabricated in Kinetica’s workshops. Using digital fabrication techniques, our team crafted 21 individual mold pieces to create a concave GFRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer) surface. These molds were then transported from Monterrey to the project site in Culiacán. At the Botanical Garden, they were meticulously assembled on-site to form a continuous surface for the final FRP screen.

The structure consists of hollow steel columns supporting a metallic frame enclosed within a double-curvature FRP shell. The monolithic screen is designed to enhance the immersive experience of light projection conceived by James Turrell.

Our team was tasked with fabricating and installing the core metallic elements of a glass lobby for Saqqara residential tower by Foster and Partners Architects ( ).The lobby combines transparency with structural resilience, featuring intricate steel profiles encased within an elegant, oval glass enclosure.

The lobby’s primary framework consists of precision-engineered metallic columns and beams. These composite structures not only support the architectural form but also ingeniously house essential MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) fittings, including concealed water drainage. Working within tight height constraints, our approach required assembling the rooftop off-site. Complete with integrated lighting, HVAC, and electrical components, the rooftop structure was suspended by scaffolds until the lobby’s columns could be positioned below.

We were commissioned to fabricate and install an auditorium for Ternium’s headquarters, designed by Caruso e Torricella Architetti. The architects were captivated by the raw, industrial look of the metallic surfaces and chose to retain this aesthetic, perfectly mirroring Ternium’s industrial identity throughout the office space.

To achieve this, we employed parametric analysis to redesign the geometry, ensuring the structure fit together seamlessly like a 3D puzzle. The auditorium’s shell was constructed from 3/8” thick steel plates, folded rather than welded, giving the impression of a large origami sculpture. With a height of 4 meters and a diameter of 15 meters, the steel plates were fabricated at our headquarters and then disassembled for transportation to the site, where our installation team reassembled the structure with high precision.

Throwback to one of our old challenges that took us to Monterrey, Mexico, where we were tasked with creating a stunning set of stainless steel lamps for the museum’s plaza.

Each lamp was meticulously crafted from stainless steel tubes with three distinct heights—6m, 9m, and 12m, featuring a specially designed lighting mechanism. The cone-shaped top is polished to perfection, and reflects light downward, creating a beautiful ambiance. This unique design caught the eye not only during installation but also years later, leading to a request for more lamps to illuminate the plaza’s expansion.

At 520 West 28th Street in Chelsea, NYC, a luxury residential project by Zaha Hadid Architects ( ), we were entrusted with the fabrication of an iconic feature wall, that consisted of GFRC panels for the pool wall on the amenities floor. The design, inspired by the fluid ripples of water droplets, features panels measuring 4’ x 10’.

The real challenge came during installation due to the confined space and the precise positioning needed for the 700-pound panels. To overcome this, we designed a specialized trolley for the project. This trolley was engineered to move, rotate, and position each panel with precision, despite the narrow gap of just 1 inch above and below. Our trolley ensured the panels were installed smoothly and safely, demonstrating the importance of custom solutions in complex architectural projects.

At Kinetica, we approach every project with a focus on both the grand scale and the fine details, ensuring that every element, no matter its size, is crafted with precision. For the Terrazas residence by Wallace E. Cunningham, we fabricated the GFRC rooftops and reflective white facade, ensuring seamless integration and durability. At the same time, we meticulously crafted the custom-made onyx bridge, ensuring perfect alignment and incorporating a built-in lighting system to highlight the bridge’s translucence, creating the illusion of it floating.

By maintaining this comprehensive approach—from the largest architectural features to the smallest components—we ensured that every detail of the Terrazas residence met the highest standards of precision, durability, and aesthetic excellence.

Back in 2012, we designed a stunning facade using GFRC with a unique wooden texture. To achieve a realistic finish, we conducted different tests with real wood to fabricate a mold and get the final look of its color and texture. The pieces were meticulously produced at our facilities and installed onsite.

La Carreta, located at the ITESM Monterrey Campus, serves as a central hub for the university, offering a multifunctional space for students, teachers, and visitors. Originally a cafeteria, it was reimagined by Sasaki Architects into an open, versatile structure that emphasizes transparency through the use of glass and steel.

Through innovative techniques and close collaboration with the architects, Kinetica was able to streamline the construction process, alleviating the complexities and challenges associated with such a sophisticated design.
