⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - "I loved that the beach was pretty secluded and the part we were riding on was not commercialized. Our guide was great and very attentive. We stopped at one point and he took pictures for us. We are experienced with riding horses but some of the people in our group had never ridden a horse before and did just fine. The horses were all very well-behaved and very gentle. Our transfer over to the stone island was nice and easy. The crew was very helpful and friendly. We didn’t stay and hang out on the beach very long after we finished riding but there was a restaurant and stuff if we wanted to stay. I would highly recommend this activity to anyone." - Heidy

CLARIFICATION: COVID-19 TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS

There has been a lot of confusion surrounding the new executive orders by the Biden administration and their effect on travel to Mexico. Please see below for the latest information.

* There is no restriction on travel to Mexico by sea or air. Flights are flying normally. Mexico does not have any testing or quarantine requirements to visit for healthy travelers. This has not changed. However other countries, such as the US, Canada and Europe do.

* Biden's executive order requires all U.S. based travelers to have a negative covid test within 3 days prior to returning to the United States starting January 26. It does not mandate quarantine or departure testing as has been incorrectly reported in the news media.

It simply directs HHS to review CDC and Biden's recommendations for their feasibility, and for government agencies to discuss with other countries, the travel industry, and the CDC to decide if any further requirements should be implemented or adjusted and how that would work.

There is no need to worry about mandated quarantine or departure testing at this time. No deadline has been set for this, it is only a directive to start talking about it to make sure the best measures are in place.

* CDC recommendations have remained unchanged. They recommend to take a test prior to travel, and to stay home for 7 days after travel. These are recommendations, not requirements.

* The hotels in Mazatlan are set up for the new testing requirement. It is very easy and seamless, and in most cases free. Your hotel will arrange for the test prior to your departure and give you all the information when you arrive. In most cases, you'll have the test right there at your hotel, it takes only a minute, and there are no needles, only nasal swabs. If your hotel doesn't offer it free, as many do, an antigen test normally costs around $45.00 and you can receive results by email in about 2 hours.

* If you are staying at a private home or Air BnB, there are many convenient options to be tested, including a doctor visiting your home, or a nearby clinic. Your host will be able to share with you the information prior to your visit and assist you. Also the U.S. Consulate can direct you to an English speaking doctor or facility. This only usually takes a few minutes.

* The executive order also mandated masks on public transportation and airlines and at airports, but those mandates have been in place since April by the airlines so no change.

* If you want to get tested before travel, as the CDC recommends you do, you can get tested for free at Walgreens, CVS, or many other locations in your hometown. It is very easy, takes only a minute, and you get emailed your results. Ideally do this about 3 days prior to travel.

In summary, other than a 1-minute test at your hotel, usually free, there is no new restriction on travel to Mexico from the U.S. at this time. Mazatlan is open and welcoming thousands of travelers like you every day, and our tours and transportation are all running with comprehensive safety protocols approved by the WHO & WTTC.
