Discreetly receded from street view, VILLA SAMADHI’s bamboo-clad gates open to reveal a most astonishing secret. It is a tribute to the natural beauty of Malaysia, a celebration of the country’s rich natural resources, yet implemented in a polished and sophisticated way. A deep respect for nature and appreciation of aesthetic deign inspired the owners to create not only a living space that is raw and beautiful, but one that endorses a way of life with and within nature’s tapestry. At VILLA SAMADHI guests will find timber salvaged from abandoned kampung (village) houses, bamboo and natural materials sourced from the indigenous Orang Asli, as well as bamboo and wood carpentry crafted on-site by the villa’s own craftsmen. Artisanal crafts are valued, with colourful Southeast Asian hill tribe artwork, Indochinese artifacts, old Chinese furniture adorning the interiors against the signature backdrop of modern glass, polished cement and modern finishings.

In his late twenties, Steven embarked on a life-changing adventure that started with a small 125cc scooter in his hometown of Ortona, Italy. What began as an accidental, unplanned trip from Venice to his hometown, fuelled by his love for adventure, and the warmth of the locals that he encountered along the way carried him on to spark a remarkable journey which most can find quite daunting.

Fast-forward to 2022. Steven’s 31 and ready to take on the world, one ride at a time, purely through Hitchhiking, in some of the world’s most stunning countries: Istanbul, Iran, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, and Thailand. With a hefty dose of faith in humanity and the belief that kindness still runs deep. This was how Steven birthed “YOUmmanity” – a project to reconnect people after the isolation of COVID, celebrating the magic of strangers.

Upon arriving in Malaysia, It was pure luck that brought him to the Italian community in Malaysia, where he met Federico. The two instantly clicked over their shared love for travel, motorcycle escapades, and the adrenaline rush of exploring the great unknown.

So, what’s next for Steven? His path remains undiscovered as he embraces the endless horizons of the open sea.
