Mortal ants infected by Ophiocordyceps unilateralis, a parasitic fungus that propagates through insects as hosts. At early stages the ants will immediately isolate itself from the colony, experiencing pain from the head. The suffering grew intense causing the ant to enter the 'zombie' mode; wandering in circles, as if shrugging the pain of its head. Mortality occurs within 3-4 days as the spores begin to produce its shoots.
