Meet Neha, a project manager in our ICT team! The Delhi native and trained classical dancer shares a little about her life as an Allstar.

What does an average day at work look like for you?
I enjoy my day in the office! Usually, my day starts with the previous day's continuation and is a mix of a couple of meetings and action items to do. Not to forget, the team lunch and coffee breaks that I especially look forward to with my teammates :) My regular days are a perfect mix of work plus fun.

What sparked your interest in Project Management?
I’m interested in communication, collaboration, working in diverse teams and also working as a group leader. AirAsia has given me all these and more to enjoy what I truly love to do.

Favorite part of your job?
Meeting new people for new projects, learning more about technology and ideas and brainstorming! The Dolly project was one of them. We went on many test flights to check on how the system works and capture feedback from our passengers.

Have you always been interested in tech?
Yes, I came from a software engineering background, hence the streak of digital shift and innovation keeps me motivated and on my toes. I was in banking tech prior to joining AirAsia. Working in consumer facing airline tech was new to me. I love that when I see whatever I do makes a difference to whoever’s using it!

What do you like about working in AirAsia?
The freedom to think out of the box and also the support in fulfilling them. The diverse culture at AirAsia brings fresh and new ideas and makes it a great workplace.

Where to next?
Amsterdam, Netherlands!

If you could take any role in AirAsia for a day, what would it be?
My gosh, so many roles! This is a difficult question. I would like to join the operations team so I can experience it all first hand.

Words of advice for someone joining AirAsia?
I’d say: come up with an innovative idea, think out of the box and enjoy your time here!

- Take ownership of technical aspects of our global technology infrastructure, ensuring that the platform is being used to its fullest potential through designing and building applications around our customer’s needs

Job Description - Technician

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for carrying out routine and non-routine aircraft technical handling and defects rectification.
- To undertake the servicing, maintenance and technical handling of aircraft in accordance with company and CAAM approved methods and procedures.
- To perform ground technical handling, routine and non-routine maintenance and servicing check and any other maintenance activities as required on the aircraft.
- To assist Licensed Aircraft Engineers to perform maintenance activities through efficient retrieval/interpretation of aircraft maintenance documents and interphase with the system in raising paperwork, clocking man hours and ordering spares.
- To be accountable for clocked man hours of tasks.
- To ensure the tasks given are completed within the time frame and to inform immediate superior for any problem or difficulties.
- Ensure possession of adequate tools and equipment and good housekeeping of the zone/work area for performing maintenance activities.

Qualifications:
- Must have completed technical training from a recognised vocational institute in the relevant trade or any other relevant training or experience that may be considered equivalent such as Air Force, Police Air Wing, other airlines, etc.
- Candidates with acceptable courses but without “hands on” experience will undergo induction and OJT programme.
- Technicians with appropriate experience with other airlines of 2 years or more will only need to complete company familiarisation program before they can be assigned to work on aircraft in a Base Maintenance environment.
