A little beach town, named Cherating, raw uncharted little gem.
We were welcomed by a very different experience and vibes from the big city. A little rugged, rustic, yet simple things make this place filled with warmth. Perhaps this is how life should be. Perhaps is the people, the attitude and servitude of the locals. Or maybe is the passion that the locals shows to welcome the outsiders. Unorganized, yet creative art pieces, chalets and resorts were found all along the Main Street next to the long beach line. Remind me a little of huttington beach area. A hint of reggae and Jamaican town influenced whispering relaxation and chillax….
When there is endless activities on this beach, ATVs, archery, beach volleyball, etc; surfing and kite surfing seems to define the characteristics of the town. November to March, surfers from all over places flock in to this perfect surfing spots due to its shallow sandy bottoms. May through July, kite surfers would swarm the town. Muscles and fitness would carve their way through the long and perfect wakes. Showing the world how almost seems impossible can be done elegantly and gracefully.
As the sun sets, town folks would stroll in and gather up at the beach bar, where bar host and hostess welcome you with ice cold beers and perfect mixed cocktails. Born fire and fire dancers are spotted here occasionally. But best of all is when random bar folk pickup the guitar and start rallying everyone to sing and dance along.
A unique experience indeed, not built for speed or your everyday life… a sense of disconnection…. Lost on earth and disappearance off the grids…
