We are looking for some folks who wouldn’t mind helping us out with a video shoot this Thursday (9/8) by exploring The Corning Museum of Glass in the morning (the CMoG shoot runs 9am-12pm) and/or some outdoor enthusiasts who wouldn’t mind exploring the waterfalls at Stony Brook State Park in the afternoon from 2-4pm. The video will be used to promote Steuben County as part of a larger Finger Lakes region-wide video and will also be used to promote Explore Steuben and Finger Lakes Rustic & Wild on our websites and social media channels.

We’re looking for people who are interested in:

CMoG Shoot: Art, Glass, Innovation

Stony Brook Shoot: Hiking, Waterfall Chasing, Picnicking

>>>> This is an open call for all ages (though anyone under 18 will need parent/guardian permission). If interested, please send us a private message with a photo of you doing something you enjoy outside for consideration.

🎈We welcome the Red, White and Blue Balloon Launch back to Letchworth State Park Memorial Day weekend!

📍All launches from May 27 to May 30 are at Archery Field, just inside Letchworth State Park’s Castile gate at 6787 Denton Corners Road, Castile, NY. Please keep in mind that gates charge $10 per vehicle from 9am to 5pm. The park is open from 6am to 11pm.

☀️About 20 balloons are expected to attend. Launches are almost every sunrise and evening this weekend:

Friday, May 27 - Evening launch at approximately 6pm

Saturday, May 28 - Sunrise launch at approximately 6am
Saturday May 28 - Evening launch at approximately 6pm (Demonstration by Rochester skydivers at 5pm—please keep field clear)

Sunday, May 29 - Sunrise launch at approximately 6am
Sunday May 29 - Evening launch at approximately 6pm (Demonstration by Rochester Skydivers at 5pm—balloon pilots ask that visitors keep Archery Field clear)

Monday, May 30, Memorial Day - Sunrise launch at approximately 6am

☁️ As always, launches are extremely weather dependent. Ground winds must be slower than about 6mph to launch.

YES! 🙌 🎉 Volunteer registration is officially OPEN for the 11th annual . Join us Saturday, May 7th as 150 state parks, historic sites, and public lands across New York State will be hosting improvement projects such as cleaning up parklands and beaches, planting trees and gardens, restoring trails and wildlife habitats, removing invasive species, and working on various site enhancement projects.
