The Start of My FAMBOWL 2023 - Wyndham Alltra Cancun Resort Review

My first stop on this site inspection trip was checking in & staying at the Wyndham Alltra Cancun Resort. This all ages resort is located on Cancun's Hotel Zone and this resort offers some really nice ocean views, a white beach and a wide range of amenities. While I enjoyed parts of this resort, there were a few minor hiccups and things I didn’t like that made my overall impression of the resort a disappointment.
Upon arrival, I was greeted with warm hospitality by the staff, who were attentive and friendly throughout my stay. The lobby exudes a modern and elegant ambiance, setting the tone for the resort's aesthetic. The check-in process was smooth and efficient.
The rooms at Wyndham Alltra Cancun Resort are spacious and comfortable. But as you can see in my photos, my room had a…less than breathtaking view of anything, with a private balcony that was pretty much a ledge. Other than the patio, the room was well-appointed with modern amenities, including a comfortable bed, a minibar, a flat-screen TV, and a normal bathroom with all the necessary toiletries. The shower’s water pressure was trash but that seems to be most of the Cancun zone’s resorts in my experience.
One of the highlights of this resort is its lobby bar. They had a great selection of booze and had some great live entertainment in the evening. The Wyndham Cancun has multiple on-site restaurants and bars where you can eat a variety of flavors from around the world. From gourmet Mexican cuisine to international favorites, the dining options were diverse and satisfying. The quality of the food was alright, and the attentive service from the restaurant staff added to the overall dining experience.
The best part of this resort is a superb beachfront location, and the pristine sandy beach and crystal-clear turquoise waters are simply breathtaking. Whether you're lounging on the beach chairs, taking a refreshing swim, or trying out thrilling water sports, there is no shortage of ways to enjoy the sun and sea. The pool area seemed small to me and was pretty active. They had easily accessible grilled food right by the pool as well.
The hotel staff hosted a FAMBOWL party and dinner with a football theme! They went above and beyond for us and even had a Lady Gaga/Beyonce performance for us.
While my stay at Wyndham Alltra Cancun Resort was mostly exceptional, there were a few minor areas that could be improved. Firstly, the Wi-Fi connection in some parts of the resort was inconsistent, which could be frustrating at times. I also thought it seemed very busy and cramped in places.
Overall, the Wyndham Alltra Cancun Resort is (in my opinion) a mid-level, budget-friendly family option, but you can get a much better experience at other family resorts. Not to say this is a BAD resort, but it might be right for only some.
I would recommend this resort to a Sioux Empire Traveler who:
• Is a family on a budget and wants that beach/water in the Cancun Hotel Zone or with teens looking for a quick weekend getaway.
