UCSI University’s De Institute of Creative Arts and Design (ICAD) will be organising a painting competition – titled, ‘mySENI Painting Competition 2018’. With this, we would like to cordially invite your school to nominate students to join the competition.

Themed, ‘Landscape Malaysia ‘, the competition is focused to identify, recognise and encourage young Malaysian students who demonstrate impressive talent in visual arts. Targeting Malaysian secondary school student – Form 3 to Form 6; Senior Middle 1 to 3 (for Chinese schools); or 2017 SPM / STPM graduates, the event will see young talents being presented with cash prizes and 20 special UCSI University Scholarship awards (amounting to RM735,000) will be awarded to deserving students to pursue Diploma or Bachelor’s degree programmes at UCSI University. Special tokens will also be awarded to the winners’ art teachers.

We hope your school will support this competition by encouraging your students to join this art competition. Kindly note that the submission deadline for all artworks is 30 August 2018. Attached with this email is our competition poster and flyer, which you may use for promotional purposes in your school.

12 November 2015, Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia : UCSI University joined the initiative to revolutionise Malaysia's fashion industry by hosting the finals and awards ceremony of the 8th Malaysia Footwear Design Competition (MFDC).

It is the first time a private higher education institution has been selected as a supporting partner for this prestigious event organised by the Selangor and Kuala Lumpur Shoe Industry Association.

The MFDC competition received over 70 entries from institutions of higher learning from all over the country and four UCSI students have been shortlisted for the finals.

The panel of judges included the founder of Andrews Models and KL Fashion Week, Andrew Tan;
founder of Amber Chia Academy and Malaysian supermodel, Amber Chia as well as Managing Director of Folio Apparel Sdn Bhd and Fashion Designer, Sonny San. Other judges include representatives from the Penang and Perak Footwear Associations; Malaysia Footwear Manufacturers Association; Oscar Footwear Marketing Sdn Bhd; Arch KL City Gallery.

The KL artREKA Week 2015 aims to provide a platform for local talents to showcase their creative works. The KL artREKA Week 2015 consists of several other competition such as the MFDC and mySENI 2015 Art Competition – open to local secondary and international O-levels and A-levels students. ArtREKA Week 2015 will be happening on 12 to 20 December 2015 in C180 in Cheras South. All MFDC final prototype will be showcased in this event to the public during the opening of artREKA Week.

BID TO SUPPORT THE CHARITY HOUSES IN KLANG VALLEY

Founded by UCSI University’s De Institute of Creative Arts and Design (ICAD) in 2014, mySENI Painting Competition aim to identify, recognize, and encourage young Malaysian talents in the field of visual arts.

Themed “Malaysian Landscape”, mySENI 2014 Painting Competition received around 150 paintings from secondary school students from around Malaysia. Due to the overwhelming response, this year ICAD is organising mySENI 2015 Painting Competition with the theme “I LUV KL”. The competition will be held on August 15 to October 30 after the soft launching of KL artREKA Week 2015 on August 15.

Prior to the Competition, ICAD is running mySENI Charity Silent Auction from July 1 to August 10. Items for auction are the paintings from mySENI 2014 Painting Competition. The starting price for each paintings is RM100. You are cordially invited to place a bid for the painting you are interested in purchasing within that period of time.

In an effort to give back to the community, all of the money raised at the auction will be donated to the charity houses around Klang Valley. Get the highest bid and bring home a beautiful painting!
