We are thrilled to support the official launch of the Deon Hotto Foundation, celebrating five years of impactful charity work, including sports events and donations to old age homes and orphanages in Swakopmund, Henties Bay, Omaruru, and Windhoek.
In recognition of the Foundation’s efforts along the coast, the Swakopmund Municipality has generously provided two erven for the development of sports facilities, a key focus of this fundraising initiative.
On the day of the launch, Deon Hotto will make a significant pledge of N$2 million towards the Foundation.
We are proud to support Deon Hotto in this noble endeavour by providing vehicles to facilitate his efforts during this short period.

During the floods of January 1931, 3 years before the great floods of 1934, the railway line between Walvisbaai and Swakopmund had been washed away. Today, 89 years later, the pillars are still standing at the mouth of the Swakopmund river.

The Namib Desert stretches along the western coast of southern Africa, a combination of bare rocks and sand dunes. In this perpetually arid environment, rivers flow toward the coast, but they are impermanent rivers that don’t necessarily reach the ocean year after year. One of these ephemeral rivers is Swakop, which drains into the Atlantic Ocean just south of Swakopmund. On average, the Swakop River reaches the Atlantic every five years. Sufficient rains sent the Swakop River seaward in Febraury 16 2022. The Swakop River appears muddy brown. North and south of the river, rocky terrain is beige. Orange-tinted sand dunes border the river in the southwest.
CAPE CROSS
Today Cape Cross is a protected area owned by the government of Namibia under the name Cape Cross Seal Reserve. The reserve is the home of one of the largest colonies of Cape fur seals in the world.
