Final trophy of the safari. A group of Gemsbok was spotted at 960 yards and then stalked in to 280 yards. Perfect shot, Weatherby Vanguard, 30-06, loaded with 165gr Nosler Accubond bullets.
After a long day of failed stalks, Marchello harvest this old Lechwe ram. 250-yard shot, behind the shoulder, but it still ran quite a long way. Great trophy.
This Springbok was stalked in to under 200 yards and this one dropped in its tracks.
African animals seem to be different. Tommy made a perfect shot on the Springbok, but it still ran a long way before falling over.
Another Hartmann Mountain Zebra had to run into the deepest canyon to make the recovery an adventure.
Typical Mountain Zebra hunt. Spot them from a distance, stalk in to just over 200 yards, make a good shot and look at it while it run into a "hellhole" before dying.
This group of Oryx was spotted a long way off and the boys stalked in to 230 yards. Marchello made a good shot, right behind the shoulder, but the bull still ran quite a long way before it died. Weatherby Vanguard, 30-06.
Welcome back to the Fornaroli family. First morning of the safari and the boys stalked in on a group of Hartmann Mountain Zebra.
Jim had to hunt really hard for a Warthog and finally got 1 late afternoon.
Mountain Zebra hunt with the horses. Taken with a Remington 700, 300 WSM, loaded with 200 gr Hornady ELDX bullets.
Another late afternoon trophy, another recovery the next morning. The shot was 320 yards, in some very tough terrain and unfortunately the Kudu fell on some rocks and broke a piece of the horn off. Hopefully, the taxidermist will be able to fix it again.
Kudu was very high on the list for Roy and this bull gave them quite the run-around. However, late afternoon and Roy got the shot into the bull. 240 yard, Sako 300 WSM, 200 gr Nosler Accubond bullets. The trophy and the meat was only recovered the next morning.
Another first African trophy. Jim stalked a long way to get within shooting distance. A very old Gemsbok bull and an exceptionally long day at the office.

Blue Wildebeest hunt in very thick brush. Was a long, windy day at the "office" again, but Jay finally got close enough to make the shot. A hard-earned trophy.
The guys spot the Zebra at around 700 yards and stalk in to just over 200 yards. An exceptionally good shot, not often that a Zebra drop like that.
