This means that passengers coming into Ghana will be issued their visas upon arrival in the country during the period.

Vallée de Mai is a stunning nature reserve and UNESCO World Heritage Site located on the island of Praslin. As home to the remnants of Seychelles’ original palm jungles and with over 4,000 trees of the legendary Coco de Mer, this historic reserve has often been described as the ‘ Garden of Eden '. An afternoon in this magical forest sees you basking in the green glow of the palm trees, which are endemic to Seychelles.

With the largest and heaviest seeds in the world, the female tree produces a heart-shaped fruit similar to the shape of a woman’s pelvic region – make sure to ask locals about the conspiracy around the trees. Look out for some unique birds such as the Seychellois bulbul and the rare black parrot.

The Senegalese version of Jollof rice, Ceebu jën, is now officially recognised by UNESCO as an intangible heritage of humanity, putting an end to the ongoing debate over its origins and solidifying Senegal’s claim as the true home of Jollof rice.

The zenith of the jollof rice debate between Ghana and Nigeria reached dizzying dimensions earlier this week when the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), settled in a swift move a long-standing fierce battle by proclaiming Senegal as the origin of jollof rice.

Jollof rice, also known as Ceebu jën in Senegal is a staple in West African cuisine, is made of rice and fish, accompanied by vegetables and sometimes tomatoes.

According to research by Conversation Africa, the origins of Jollof rice can be traced back to the entrenchment of colonial rule in West Africa between 1860 and 1940. During this period, French colonizers replaced food crops with broken rice imported from Indochina. Over time, broken rice became more prized by the Senegalese than whole rice grain, and the dish known as Ceebu jën was born.

Jollof rice (called Ceebu jën in Senegal according to the Wolof spelling). The dish has become a source of pride and cultural identity for the Senegalese and has been recognised as an intangible heritage of humanity by UNESCO.

Victoria Falls which is also called Lozi (Mosi-oa-Tunya) "Thundering Smoke" or Tonga (Shungu Namutitima) "Boiling Water") is a waterfall at the Zambezi River in southern Africa, which provides habitat for several unique species of plants and animals. It is located on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe and is one of the world's largest waterfalls.

The UAE visa ban has been lifted

President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria secured a landmark deal with United Arab Emirates across sectors that facilitated the removal of the visa ban

It was a historic agreement. And, with this development, both Etihad Airlines and Emirates Airlines are to resume flight schedules to and from Nigeria

President Tinubu was also pleased to have negotiated a joint foreign exchange liquidity program between both governments, which will be announced in the coming weeks

Great Zimbabwe National Monument (1986)

Located in the Southeastern Hills of Zimbabwe, the Great Zimbabwe National Monument is a cultural site listed as one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Zimbabwe

It is a ruined city with several remains from the Kingdom of Zimbabwe that flourished during the Iron Age. The construction of the monuments included in this site was believed to have originated in the 11th century and continued on until the 15th century.
