Canada LMIA is Now Easier to Get.

Starting April 2023, the Temporary Foreign Worker Program will be transitioning to online Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) applications.
Employment and Social Development Canada will require Canadian employers (or their third-party representatives) to submit their LMIA application to Service Canada via the LMIA Online Portal. As of April 3, 2023, paper or fax submissions will no longer be accepted.

The new LMIA Online Portal will provide employers with a more streamlined and efficient application process. Employers will be able to submit their LMIA applications, complete or return to an application before submitting it to Service Canada, upload supporting documents, pay LMIA fees (if applicable), access real-time updates on the application status, and view correspondence and decision letters issued by Service Canada, among other options.

Many people dream of a future in Australia. When you are willing to live and work in Australia, you will need a visa. The skilled migrant category does not only include permanent visas but visas for temporary stay in Australia as well.

Skilled Migrant visa
This category is designed to recruit the most talented individuals, who can contribute to the Australian economy. Not only those in employment but also (small) self-employed entrepreneurs belong with an annual turnover lower than AUD 500,000.- and equity of AUD 800,000.- belong to this category.

To apply for a visa in the skilled migrant category you must meet several requirements. Firstly you need to prove you practice a job listed on Australia’s occupational list. You must prove that your experience and education correspond to the requirements set for this occupation. Furthermore, the requirements below apply:

You are older than 18 years but younger than 45 years of age
Your English language ability satisfy the requirements
You score enough points in the points testing system
Lastly, you are in good health and you don’t have a criminal record
The skilled migrant category is subdivided into various visas which all have their requirements.

Secondly, this visa applies to people who have a job on the ‘Short-term Skilled Occupation List’. This includes occupations wherein a shortage is identified in specific regions. In this case, a state nomination is mandatory.

Each Australian state works with its own occupation list with jobs they are willing to sponsor for a visa and handles their own requirements for state nomination.

[PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAM]

It is mainly for those candidates who want to live in a particular province or territory. They must have skills, education, and work experience to contribute to the economy of a specific province or territory.

Provinces have their own immigration programs that target certain groups also known as “streams”. Like a particular province may target students, business people or skilled workers.

You can apply via paper-based process, or by the online process through Express Entry.

Under the paper-based process, you have to apply for the province for nomination under a non-Express Entry stream. Once nominated, you should submit a paper application for permanent residence to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Under the Express Entry process, one way is that you can directly contact a province and apply for nomination. If you are nominated by province then create an Express Entry profile or update the existing one and show that you are nominated.

Or, you can show the provinces you are interested in your Express Entry profile. If you get a “notification of interest”, you can apply to their Express Entry stream.

In either case, you must fulfill the eligibility requirements of the province and must submit an Express Entry profile. If invited to apply, you can submit an application to IRCC.

(3/5) Fully vaccinated travellers do not need a post-arrival test unless they are randomly selected to complete a Day 1 molecular test. There are no changes to the mandatory testing requirements for unvaccinated travellers.

(4/5) All travellers must have proof of a negative molecular test taken within 72 hours before arrival, or a positive result taken 14-180 days before arrival. Antigen tests will not be accepted.

[Canada - Athabasca Sand Dunes Provincial Park]

It might be hard to believe at first, but these sand dunes are in fact found in Canada! Athabasca Sand Dunes Provincial Park is full of unexpected surprises; the main one being that it’s located in the wilderness of northern Saskatchewan and not in the middle of the Sahara. The park stretches out over 100 kilometres, lies right in the middle of a boreal forest, is carved by three rivers, and is right next to one of Canada’s largest lakes! Those looking to explore the most northerly active sand dunes in the world should be prepared for an adventure, as there are no roads or on-site services located in the park. The best way to get around is either hiking, or in true Canadian fashion, by canoe!

What documents do you need for university/ college admissions?

Generally, when you're applying for an undergraduate diploma or degree, you need the following:

- high school diploma
- IELTS Academic 6 or 6.5
OR
- English Pathway certificate (which you can take instead of IELTS exam)
- Duolingo test. It looks like some colleges may not accept Duolingo starting this fall, however, some will still accept it.

Some programs have minimum GPA requirements, possibly an interview requirement, portfolio or recommendation letters.

How much time do you need for admissions? While in some cases, you can get away with 4 to 6 months, it's best to start the admissions process 6 to 8 months before the program start date. We're already working on the September 2022 intake. For those of you, who are still hoping to get into January intake - you need to hurry up and it's still possible in some cases, as long as you have your English requirement (IELTS exam results) ready to go.
