This COMMON practice is unhealthy for the Dead. It is even more uncomfortable for the ones performing the final rites on the deceased.
Dear brethren,
Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatuLLĀH,
Have you ever witnessed the janazah of a Muslim before, especially in the South West here?
Have you also witnessed how there are no ready provisions for the shroud of the dead, a lot of the time?
And after finally getting the shroud in place, have you noticed how difficult it is usually to move the dead around?
From the point of death to the washing point to the point of the janazah prayer and then lifting them into their graves?
Usually, mats are the primary means of moving the dead around,
And, in all sincerity, this is usually difficult for the ones in charge of the janazah.
It is even unbefitting for our brothers and sisters who are being given the final rites.
On this note, an effort has been kick-started to get stretchers into various masājid across Ibadan, and also get ready-to-use shrouds in such masājid, too.
At the Daaru-s-Salafiyyah, Ibadan, some amount of money were donated for this cause and a stretcher (and a bundle of shroud) has been procured, AlhamduliLlah...
The goal is to get as many stretchers as possible for masaajid in Ibadan, and as many yards of shrouds as possible.
To make this effort sustainable, kindly donate NOW to help us treat our dead ones in a more beautiful manner.
