Pottery is an ancient tradition work in Ilorin which is still practiced in most parts of the city.
the pottery production start with the women smash and mix the clay manually. After mixing the clay thoroughly, they collect the quantity of clay they need and mould.
After moulding, they scoop the inside and then shine the edge of the pot with stones. They also make different designs on the pots using local tools.
After this is done, they keep it under the sun to dry. Before they take it to the field for firing.
Although there are other pot-making centres in Ilorin , Dada areas of the state. The Dada Pottery is one of the largest traditional pottery workshops in the country.
Potter's are who makes pots, bowls, souvenirs etc., out of clay : a person who makes pottery by hand.
