SUSPENSION OF DUBAI FLIGHTS DUE TO NON-ISSUANCE OF VISAS BY UAE GOVT TO NIGERIANS
We hereby inform the public, especially our Dubai passengers, that effective from Tuesday, November 22, 2022, we shall be suspending our Dubai operations till further notice.
This is consequent upon the persisting non-issuance of visas to Nigerian travellers by the government of the United Arab Emirates and the accompanying inconveniences.
Air Peace has been operating into UAE even with the country's recent travel restrictions, but given the heightening hurdles Nigerian travellers are facing in accessing the country, it has become imperative that we halt our operations to that destination.
We shall provide further updates as the situation progresses.
Passengers whose flights are affected by this development can mail our Call Center Team- [email protected] to attend to their concerns.

CLARIFICATION ON THE DUBAI ENTRANCE ISSUE. The Nigerian Mission in Dubai has clarified that most of the supposedly stranded Nigerians were issued with family visas, only to arrive Dubai alone without any family member. Consequently, they were denied entry and advised to return to their country and apply for the appropriate visas. However, those persons allowed entry into the country have their family members in the UAE. While those who claimed their family members were on another flight, were told to wait at the airport, pending their arrival.

The general public is invited to note and be guided that the Government of the UAE
has introduced a new visa regime and has stopped issuing tourist visas to persons
under the age of 40 years, except for those applying for family visas.
It is therefore, instructive for prospective visa applicants to indicate clearly their visa
preferences without any ambiguity and also respect the immigration laws of other
countries so as to avoid unwarranted treatments.

Delta Air Lines has announced the suspension of its flights
between New York-JFK and Lagos effective October 4,
2022.
The airline made the announcement in a statement
released today August 30. According to the airline, the
route suspension was to fit into "the current demand
environment." The statement, however, stressed that the
airline was still operating its Lagos and Atlanta routes.
The statement read
"Delta is suspending its non-stop service between New
York-JFK and Lagos to fit the current demand
environment. The airline continues to operate service
between Lagos and Atlanta and offers onward connections
to New York and other cities across the United States.
Customers impacted by our suspended New York-JFK to
Lagos service will be re-accommodated on Delta operated
flights, or services operated by our joint venture partners.
Delta remains committed to the Nigeria market."

Emirates suspends all flights from Nigeria effective Sept 1

Mega carrier, Emirates Airlines has said it would stop all flight operations to Nigeria due to its inability to repatriate its funds from Nigeria.

The carrier in a statement said it had tried every avenue to address its ongoing challenges in repatriating funds from Nigeria and had made considerable efforts to initiate dialogue with the relevant authorities for their urgent intervention to help find a viable solution.

"Regrettably there has been no progress. Therefore, Emirates has taken the difficult decision to suspend all flights to and from Nigeria, effective 1 September 2022, to limit further losses and impact on our operational costs that continue to accumulate in the market.

We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused to our customers, however, the circumstances are beyond our control at this stage. We will be working to help impacted customers make alternative travel arrangements wherever possible.

"Should there be any positive developments in the coming days regarding Emirates’ blocked funds in Nigeria, we will of course re-evaluate our decision. We remain keen to serve Nigeria, and our operations provide much-needed connectivity for Nigerian travelers, providing access to trade and tourism opportunities to Dubai, and to our broader network of over 130 destinations.”

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION ON ACUTE SHORTAGE OF AVIATION FUEL AND FLIGHT
DISRUPTIONS
This is to notify the members of the public, especially, consumers of air transport
services in the country, that the aviation sector has been hit by a major crisis with the
acute scarcity of aviation fuel otherwise known as Jet-A1.
For this reason, there will be major disruptions in scheduled flight operations including
cancellations and unnecessary delays across all airports in the country.
This is a foreseen but unintended consequence of the aviation fuel scarcity in the
country.
We, therefore, plead for the understanding of the travelling public to bear with our
members as efforts are currently being made to address the development and restore
normal flight operations.
AN is committed to rendering seamless and uninterrupted air transport service across
ine country.
