Quebec invited 69 immigration candidates to apply for permanent selection on June 17.
Details of this latest round of invitations have been released today.
The Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI) invited candidates under the Regular Skilled Worker Program (RSWP) who had filed an Expression of Interest (EOI) in Quebec’s online registration portal, Arrima.
An EOI is not an application. It is a way for candidates to notify Quebec’s Ministry of Immigration that they would like to be considered for a Quebec Selection Certificate or CSQ. When they receive a CSQ candidates can apply for permanent residence with the federal government.

How to travel to Canada with a COPR during COVID

After 15 months, Canada’s border has reopened to approved permanent residents. These newcomers can now officially immigrate to Canada when they arrive at the border. Granted, they will be subject to the same public health measures that affect all incoming travellers.
Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino opened up Canada’s border to approved permanent residents on June 21, 2021. Before then, these individuals who had received their Confirmation of Permanent Residency (COPR) document after March 18, 2020, were not exempt from travel restrictions. In order to complete the landing process, they needed to meet another exemption. As a result, they were stuck waiting in immigration limbo — not officially permanent residents even though they had passed every other stage of the immigration process.
Canadian officials said there are about 23,000 COPR holders outside Canada. Those whose documents are still valid are now exempt from travel restrictions. What’s more, fully vaccinated travellers can skip the mandatory quarantine.

What we know about Canada’s border reopening..

All eyes are on the Canadian border as the current travel restrictions are set to expire this Monday, June 21. The question is, will they be extended again?

There has been much discussion, and hints leaked to the media, but officials have been tight-lipped so far.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has suggested the border would be re-opened in phases.

Trudeau has maintained that Canada would not start easing restrictions until 75 per cent of Canadians have been vaccinated.

About 60 per cent of Canada’s total population has received at least one dose, and 8 per cent are fully vaccinated.

Canada’s prime minister, Justin Trudeau, has said the international border would open up in a phased approach, starting with fully vaccinated travellers.

Health Minister Patty Hajdu also said Canada could start scaling back quarantine requirements for exempt travellers as early as the first week of July.

Reducing such restrictions would allow thousands of Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) holders to finally complete their landing in Canada, after being stranded overseas since the travel restrictions took effect.

The implication of this is you need to take a Covid-19 Vaccine here in Nigeria before you dream of stepping your foot in Canada

How to Apply to the IEC for 2021

In order to participate in the IEC program, an applicant’s country of citizenship must have entered into an IEC Agreement with Canada. If the Applicant’s home country does not have this agreement with Canada, the Applicant may be able to use a recognized organization to access the program.

Each country and recognized organization have their own criteria that the applicant must meet, such as: age, the number of participants, and which program(s) applicants may qualify under. The minimum age requirement for participation is 18 and in most cases, applicants are eligible for a work permit of at least 12 months. The maximum age of participation is 30 to 35, depending on the country.

The IEC program can be very helpful to companies when hiring young foreign workers in Canada, especially in situations where an LMIA may not be suitable.

Some essential workers exempt from work permits and quarantine

Foreign nationals who are coming to Canada to support critical infrastructure, or are essential for health and safety reasons, may be exempt from travel restrictions.

Certain foreign workers who are looking to work in essential occupations may only need a temporary resident visa (TRV) or an electronic travel authorization (eTA) to work in Canada, rather than a work permit.
Foreign workers who are coming to Canada to support critical infrastructure and who are exempt from the travel restrictions, may not need a work permit to work legally in Canada.

In addition, certain workers may also be exempt from the mandatory 14-day quarantine period. This also means that they would not have to stay at a government-approved hotel for three days when they arrive in Canada. These workers include the following:

Emergency and medical services providers;

Individuals allowed to work as a student in a health field, such as a medical elective or a clinical clerk;

Workers in the marine transportation sector;

Individuals who are delivering, maintaining or repairing medically necessary equipment or devices;

Individuals who are making medical deliveries of cells, blood and blood products, tissues, organs and other body parts;

Individuals providing an essential service while in Canada, as determined by the Chief Public Health Officer (CPHO).

Canadian work permit options for entrepreneurs in 2021

Work permits are the first step for foreign entrepreneurs to run a business in Canada.

Canada has made some policy changes affecting immigration pathways for entrepreneurs.

In recent weeks, Canada announced that the Owner/Operator category under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) will be removed on April 1, 2021. This category allowed applicants to apply for a work permit without having to do the advertising requirement of the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).
There are also some new instructions affecting Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) Investors. As of January 1, Canada is not processing U.K. applicants under this program. Instead, they will be processed under the new Canada-UK Trade Continuity Agreement after it is ratified, which is expected to happen early this year. Until then, will have to be accompanied by an LMIA or meet the eligibility requirements of an LMIA-exempt work permit category.

Here are some of the other options for entrepreneurs who want to start a business in Canada.

Quebec launches 3 new immigration programsThe new immigration pilots will focus on pathways for workers in health, food processing, and technology sectors.

Published on March 3rd, 2021 at 05:08pm EST

On March 3, Quebec announced it will launch three new immigration pilots over the coming weeks.
The Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI) is opening up the pilots for foreign nationals who work in the following three sectors:

food processing;

health (orderlies); and

artificial intelligence, information technology and visual effects.

These pilots are expected to last for a maximum of five years. The goal is to attract and retain immigrants whose skills meet Quebec’s labour market needs.
MIFI will issue Quebec Selection Certificates (CSQ) to up to 550 principal applicants, annually, through each pilot. Applicants must work in eligible sectors in order to be selected. This figure does not include families

Express Entry: 671 PNP candidates invited.

Published on March 8th, 2021 at 02:01pm ESTUpdated on March 9th, 2021 at 09:05am EST

Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited candidates who had a minimum score of 739. This score requirement seems high, but that is because everyone invited had previously received a nomination from a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
Express Entry candidates who get a provincial nomination are automatically given 600 points on top of their original human capital score. Meaning those who had the minimum score of 739, had a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 139 without the provincial nomination.

“Provincial nominees have demonstrated that they will benefit provincial labour markets,” said Attorney David Cohen, Senior Partner of Campbell Cohen. “In turn, provinces support their Express Entry application with an award that guarantees they will be invited to apply for permanent residence.”

Do you want to know
how to prevent Canada immigration fraud?

05/03/2021

The Real Truth About Living And
Working Permanently in Canada

With the present condition of the country at the moment, I really don't blame any
Nigerian who is looking for a better life for themselves and their family.

Truth is...Canada is a great country and home to about 100,000 Nigerians
As a permanent resident in Canada, you enjoy
- Free quality education for your children
- Free and premium health care

But if you want to relocate to Canada, you have to shine your eyes well, well so
that you simply don't waste a lot of money trying to process your relocation
Let's start with this...

(1) Canada targets to bring in 1 million immigrants.
You probably know this already. For 2018 alone, the Canadian authorities
announced that they have now welcomed 82,000 people this year alone.

1 million people is a lot but that does not mean everyone who applies will get in

First, their immigration programs suit people who are between ages 22-45
If you are older than 45, it will be difficult for you to get in
If you are within this age range of 22-45 and you are interested, then NOW is the
time to make a move
That is because...

(2) Canada's Immigration Policies Change From Time to Time
What this means is this...
As more people apply and try to get into Canada, the policies get tighter
The minimum requirements that got people into Canada 2 years ago won't get
you in today
That means the best time for you to start processing your relocation is today.
If you wait till 6 months time, well, the policies could have tightened up by then
making it more difficult for you
Another reason why many people won't get in is..

(3) Relocating to Canada is a big investment especially if you are coming with
your family
This is the simple truth
Relocating to Canada isn't for everyone especially if you are struggling to put
food on the table.
Don't believe anyone who says otherwise.

HOW TO RELOCATE TO CANADA: The essential guide.

Do you have it mind to relocate to Canada?
If YES, this post is for you.

After seeing endless advert about Migration to Canada, I decided to make research about how to genuinely migrate to Canada without anxiety over immigration status and to receive
warm welcome at the point of landing.

I delayed post this in order to verify my findings before posting it.

Here is the good news!

You can relocating to Canada in 2021 convinently, if you go through the new program that the Canadian government launched recently.

This is the ONLY Canada relocation program that allows you to become a permanent Canadian resident even if you do not have a degree.

With this new program, you can get a job anywhere in Canada and you are
allowed to move with your entire family.
•Does not require high IELTS score (5.0 is okay)
• You get a job almost immediately.
• Only 12 months previous work experience required.
• Age does not matter.
• Only 2 years post-secondary education required e.g. OND.
• Not based on points (like Express Entry)

This doesn’t mean it's everyone that will get in.

Relocating to Canada regardless of what program you are going through cost at
least N1.5M and that is if they don’t ask you for proof of funds.

That is another good thing about this new program.

No proof of funds is required.

Many Nigerians are utilising this method to relocate to Canada. but like other immigration channels, it will soon become highly competitive.

And that is why NOW is the right time you start processing it..

Mr Daniel Ola (a Nigerian immigration expert based in Canada) created a video
to explain how this new program works and how you can apply.

6 ways to increase your CRS score
(Continuation of previous post)

5. PROVINCIAL NOMINATION
If you receive a nomination from a province, you get 600 additional points. Many provinces operate a nomination program aligned with Express Entry, but it’s usually up to the candidate to figure out which programs they might be eligible for and how to apply. Keep in mind that applying for a provincial nomination is usually a completely separate application process.

6. STUDY

Going back to school is a pretty big investment to increase your score, but it can also have a big impact. A short program like a one-year post-secondary certificate could get you a lot of points. If you already have one post-secondary degree of three years or more, worth 120 points, and take a second one-year program, you can claim an additional 8 points for just education. If you already had CLB 9, and two years of Canadian work experience, you can claim an additional 50 points for skills transferability. That’s 58 total additional Express Entry points.

6 ways to increase your CRS score

1. RETAKE THE IELTS
Improving your IELTS score is the number one way to increase your points. On their own, good IELTS results can get you up to 160 points.

•Immigration Tip:
Register to take your IELTS early. That way, if you don’t do as well as you hoped, you have time to retake them before you submit your profile. You can always update your profile, but if you wait until after you’re in the pool to improve your score, you could be missing out on draws.

2. WORK EXPERIENCE
Since Express Entry manages applications to economic immigration streams, your work experience is a big part of calculating your Express Entry points.

•Immigration Tip:
If you’re not eligible for Express Entry, or if you are eligible but don’t have a competitive score, consider coming to Canada first as a student or temporary worker. Canadian experience can open up a lot more Canadian immigration options.

A lot of candidates don’t leverage the work experience that they do have as much as possible, though. Express Entry uses the National Occupational Classification (NOC) matrix to assign points to all occupations. Choosing the right NOC code is one of the simplest ways to increase your score.

3. SPOUSAL POINTS

It may not apply to some candidates, but if you have a spouse or common-law partner, you may be missing out on some points you can claim.

•Immigration Tip:
If you and your spouse or partner are both strong candidates, you can each submit a profile to the Express Entry pool and list each other as accompanying. That way you double your chances of success!

4. JOB OFFER

An eligible job offer from a Canadian employer can get you between 50 to 200 additional points. Spend time on the Canada Job Bank, as well as private job boards and social networking sites to try to connect with Canadian employers in your field.

(Continue from Previous post)

How much does Express Entry cost?
1. Language tests: Average cost – $300
2. Educational Credential Assessment (ECA): Average cost – $200
3. Biometrics: $85/personGovernment fees: $1,325/adult & $225/child.
4.Medical examination fees: average cost – $450/adult & $250/child.
5.Police clearance certificates: average cost – $100/country

No government fees are required to submit your initial Express Entry profile.

Do I need a job offer for Express Entry?

You do not require a job offer for Express Entry. The vast majority of candidates selected for Express Entry do not have a formal Canadian job offer.

A formal Canadian job offer for a skilled, full-time position can add 50 to 200 points to your Express Entry application. Almost always, a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) is required for these points to be awarded.

Canada Express Entry 2021 Guide

Express Entry is the fastest and most popular pathway for newcomers seeking a new life in Canada. Express Entry organizes and processes applications for people who wish to immigrate to Canada and acquire Canadian permanent residence.

How can I apply for Express Entry?

Applying to Express Entry is a two-step process. The first step is to submit your profile which requires the following documents:

▪Language test results
▪Educational credential assessment report
▪A passport or travel document

After you submit your profile and you receive an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence, you will need to provide a more substantial application that includes reference letters, additional identity documents, police clearance certificates, and results of a medical examination.

Who is eligible for Express Entry?

Candidates with university or college degrees with skilled work experience and moderate proficiency in English and/or French are ideal candidates. Candidates who qualify for the following programs are also eligible to submit an application under the Express Entry program:

•Federal Skilled Worker (FSW)
•Federal Skilled Trades (FST)
•Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

Relocating to Canada will cost you a lot of money.
I can't give you a specific amount but here are some of the expenses involved:
=> The permanent resident application fee alone cost $550/adult and $150/child
=> The IELTS (English test) alone cost N75,000 per person (Which your spouse
will also do if you are married)
=> If you are moving with your family, well you know you will be paying for their plane tickets.
If you think getting the funds to relocate to Canada isn't a big issue for you, then
the next thing you ought to know is this

(4) The entire Canada immigration program is based around what is called a CRS point
Once you are able to achieve a pretty high CRS point, 80% of your job is done.
The CRS cut off point for each month is announced each month. So, there is no
constant figure for it.
For instance, on November 15, 2018, the cut off figure announced for the
Canadian express entry was 449
That means people who scored a minimum of 449 were issued an ITA (Invitation
to Apply)
Achieving this CRS point is the main key and it is calculated based on factors like
age range, education, work experience, your use of English language etc
If you are able to achieve a high enough CRS point within the next 3 months, you
could start packing your bags for Canada very soon.

Many people don't know how this works and that is why they keep throwing
money at various immigration agents and wasting their money
With what I have now learnt, I believe there is no need to waste your money on
any immigration agent as regards moving to Canada

Ps: If you are truly interested in relocating to Canada, I think you should watch this
50-minutes video that was put together by the man I mentioned earlier.
