đź“Ś Easy Guide to Locate NYSC Orientation Camps in All States (Including FCT)

1. Abia: From Umuahia, take a cab to Ohafia via Igbere. Stop at Igbere and walk to camp.

2. Anambra: From Onitsha, go to Awka and stop at Amawbia Junction. Take a bike/Keke to Umuawulu camp.

3. Kano: Stop at Unguwa Uku, take a bus to Karaye camp.

4. Jigawa: From Kano, take a bus to Dutse. The camp is in Fanisau, opposite the Army barracks.

5. Bauchi: From Bauchi, go to Muda Lawal Park, then take a bus to Wailo camp.

6. Rivers: Stop at Eleme Junction in Port Harcourt. Board a Nonwa bus to the camp.

7. Oyo: From Ibadan, stop at Iwo Road, take a bus to Iseyin Park, then a bus to the camp.

8. Delta: Stop at Issele-Uku Junction from Asaba. Cross the road and take a bike to camp.

9. Adamawa: From Yola, go to Vinikilang and take a Keke to camp.

10. Katsina: From Katsina Park, take a bike to Mani Road camp.

11. Nasarawa: From Abuja, go to Keffi and stop at the camp gate.

12. Cross River: Stop at Obubra Junction and take a bike to camp.

13. Sokoto: From Sokoto city, take a bike to Wamakko camp.

14. Kaduna: From Kaduna city, take a bus to Chikun LGA.

15. Kogi: From Kabba, take a bike to camp.

16. Osun: From Osogbo, take a bus to Ede, then a bike to camp.

17. FCT (Abuja): From Jabi Park, head to Kubwa Market and walk or bike to camp.

18. Lagos: From Iyana Ipaja, take a bus to Agege and walk to camp.

19. Ogun: From Sagamu, take a bike to camp.

20. Imo: From Owerri, stop at Nkume Junction, then take a bike to camp.

21. Enugu: From Holy Ghost Park, take a bus to Awgu.

22. Borno: Head to Gumel, where the camp is at the College of Education.

23. Yobe: From Potiskum, head straight to camp.

24. Gombe: Take a bus to Science Technical College, Amanda, near Gombe Airport.

25. Akwa Ibom: From Uyo, find a bus to Nsit Atai camp.

26. Kwara: From Ilorin, head to Yikpata camp via Maraba.

27. Bayelsa: Stop at Kaiama Park, then take a bike to camp.

28. Edo: From Okada, take a bike to camp.

29. Taraba: From Jalingo, the camp is on Airport Road.

30. Zamfara: From Tsafe LGA, camp is along the road.

31. Benue: From Gboko, stop at the camp gate near Police College.

32. Plateau: From Jos, take a Keke to WAYE Foundation, Jos South.

33. Ebonyi: From Abakaliki, take a bus to Afikpo and a bike to camp.

34. Kebbi: From Koko, take a cab to Dakingari camp.

35. Niger: From Minna, head to Paiko camp via Mobil station.

36. Ekiti: From Ado-Ekiti, take a direct bus to Ise-Emure camp.

37. Ondo: From Akure, take a vehicle to Ikare, then a bike to camp.

First Day at NYSC Camp: What to Expect

Preparing well for your NYSC camp is key to a smooth experience. Here's a quick guide to help you:

Four Cardinal Points of NYSC

1. Orientation Camp Exercise
2. Place of Primary Assignment (PPA)
3. Community Development Service (CDS)
4. Passing Out Parade (POP)

You must complete these stages to earn your NYSC Discharge Certificate.

Arriving at Camp

1. Gate Check: Show your Call-up Letter as an entry pass. Your luggage will be inspected, and you'll get a tag number for registration.

2. Accommodation: Provide your tag number to get a bunk and mattress. Write your name in the logbook to secure your space. Note that mattresses may not be in great condition.

Registration & Documentation

Present originals of your documents, including your Statement of Result.

Collect your meal ticket and identity tag (must be worn at all times).

Your tag number will indicate your platoon (e.g., last digit “5” means Platoon 5).

Important Tips for Prospective Corps Members

1. Do not travel to the Orientation Camp at night; rest if necessary.

2. Report to camp on the date assigned to you.

3. Fix any spelling or name errors on your dashboard before camp.

4. Changes to your Date of Birth, Graduation Date, Course of Study, or Passport Photo are not allowed after camp documentation.

5. If there are discrepancies between your Call-up Letter and Statement of Result, resolve them with your institution before going to camp.

NOTE
When given an oversized or undersized shoes, find someone (fellow PCM) who has what you are looking for and exchange or better still be polite in approaching any other platoon officer who have your size to Exchange for you. And then, for the khaki trouser and jacket be rest assured of giving your #3500 to the mami tailors for the resizing.
Believing the above to be applicable in every other camp of the federation.

3. Sophisticated devices eg laptop, stove, gas etc
4. Electrical appliances eg pressing iron, clippers, extension wire etc
5. Cookeable food stuff eg raw yam, noddles etc
6. Metallic cutleries eg fork, table knife etc
7. Weapons of any kind.

3. Beverages (milk, corn flakes, custard etc)

5. Bucket(rubber) and bowler
6. Cardigan WHITE
7. Food flask / plates, cup.
8. Spoon
9. Washing Detergent
10. WHITE Handkerchief
11. Mosquito net/ repellent (I never experienced a bit of mosquitoes while there though)
12. Padlock
13. Waist pouch (bag)
14. Power bank is highly recommended
15. Bathing slippers
16. Water container (optional)
17. Sunglasses (optional)
18. Torch light (optional)
19. Wrist watch
20. Your medication (if any)
21. Your phone
22. Ladies know their bathroom needs.
