This is Labadi Beach or more properly known as La Pleasure Beach is the busiest beach on Ghana's coast It is one of Accra's beaches and is maintained by the local hotels and resorts around.
The Beach is in a town called La, popularly known as Labadi, near Teshie in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.

Labadi Beach is where you can come across reggae DJs playing on Wednesday nights till down (reggae night), close to an open bar that is kitted with local and foreign beers for you to feel the cool atmosphere of the setting.
Occasional live bands, acrobats as well as other entertainments are held in this location. Most of the playing groups come from Accra and other neighboring countries.

On holidays and weekends there are often performances of Conscious Reggae Dancehall, Hiplife, playback, and Cultural Drumming and Dancing.
It seems to be very attractive, with high standards that get you on the groove at all times. Other people catch fun here include international students, reggae lovers, and the Rastafarians with their long dreadlocks looking to mix with foreigners.

There are dozens of bars littered across the place, where you can enjoy cool beers or try out locally-brewed gin and spirits like Akpeteshi or Shocker. These very potent drinks, consumed in moderation, are the drink of choice for many local beach goers. There are also ho**ah bars in smoking areas, for those who enjoy to***co or cannabis.

The food is also a treat although it is mainly street food. On my last visit to Ghana Labadi beach, I tried most of the Local favorites like charcoal-grilled tilapia, spicy kebabs, Jollof rice, kenkey and smoked fish, waakye and kelewele, these foods are sold for very cheap,

There are also stalls where you can buy continental dishes in the beach like french fries, burgers and salads or you can as well come with your own home cooked food along with your team or family,

Entering the Labadi beach is not free one will have to pay a gate fee of GHC 20 which is about $3.5 and if it happens to be a Special celebration day the fee usually increases to GHC 30 approximately $5 or more.

Today October 1st marks Nigeria’s 🇳🇬Independence day celebration,

Nigeria is 60 (diamond jubilee) years old today, counting from the end of the colonial era. Happy Independence Day Nigeria!!!!!

Nigeria independently built her own country and government after regaining freedom from the British in 1960. Germany also fought for this power but the British were victorious. Even though some European customs still existed in the country, the call for Nigerian independence, which took place in the middle of the 20th century, strengthened Nigerians as a separate nation, not a foreign colony.
Nigeria received the status of a 'federal republic' and adopted its constitution in 1963. At that time, Nnamdi Azikiwe became the first president.
Nigeria is an independent country and is on her way to a bright future.

Whenever you are close to an ocean, fishing is one of the main forms of occupation that exist among people. Just like that Elmina in Ghana is a fishing town which has the historical St. George’s Castle.

Welcome to Elmina Castle one of the oldest Slave castles that remains in west Africa (Ghana🇬🇭), believe me this is one of the most historical, intellectual and emotionally
rewarding experiences you can ever imagine...

Elmina Castle was erected by the Portuguese in 1482 as Castelo de São Jorge da Mina (St. George of the Mine Castle), also known as Castelo da Mina in present-day Elmina It was the first trading post built on the Gulf of Guinea, and the oldest European building in existence south of the Sahara. First established as a trade settlement, the castle later became one of the most important stops on the route of the Atlantic Slave trade.

Elmina castle happens to be where Slaves were massively kept before they were
exported to Europe, North, South, Central America and the Caribbean to work in plantations. It is one of the tourist attraction places in Ghana that you shouldn’t miss from visiting.
The Castle Museum has whitewashed walls and it was built in 1482 by the Portuguese. It had a dark history because of its association to the slave trade and they were housed in the dungeons that visitors can still see today.

Cote d'Ivoire, also known as Ivory Coast, is a country located in West Africa and celebrates its Independence Day on August 7. The day commemorates Cote d'Ivoire's freedom from France, gained in 1960, and is national holiday.

The day is packed with cultural activities and parties. Bangui, the local palm wine, and aloko, ripe banana fried in palm oil are served aplenty. Military parades and processions are also held in the capital city of Cote d'Ivoire - Yamoussoukro. Marian Chukwuma

What to do and places you can visit in Ivory Coast also known as Côte d’Ivoire is located in West Africa and it is one of the top French speaking countries in the world.

It has two capitals Yamoussoukro which is the political capital and Abidjan the economic capital. Ivory Coast is also known as the largest exporter of Cocoa. If you are looking for a new destination to explore then Cote d’Ivoire is the place to visit.

Here we bring you one of the top tourst attraction place to visit in Ivory Coast,

Our Lady of Peace of Yamoussoukro Basilica is located in Yamoussoukro, which since March 1983 been the capital of Côte d’Ivoire (the Ivory Coast). It is the largest Christian church in the world, according to Guinness World Records. The basilica is not to be confused with a cathedral, which is the principal place of worship and where the ruling bishop is seated. It was constructed between 1985 and 1989 and is locally known by its French name, Basilique Notre-Dame de la Paix.

After the complex was finished in 1990, the Basilica, which is modeled after St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, had cost over $300 million in US dollars to complete the edifice, and stood as the world’s largest church eclipsing the size of its inspiration in Italy. The complex is over 30,000 square meters and the dome rises over 500 feet into the air and can accommodate 18,000 worshippers, including some 7,000 seated and 11,000 standing, and the esplanade in front of the Basilica can accommodate 300,000 people.

Although the Basilica gave the Ivory Coast international recognition, including Pope John Paul II’s blessing, it’s construction symbolized a larger problem that would plague the country over the next 20 years.

Regular services are usually only attended by a few hundred people. The only time the basilica was filled to capacity was on February 7, 1994, for President Houphouët-Boigny’s funeral. Only 17 percent of Ivorians identify as Catholic, while Islam remains the major religion of the nation.

While visiting the historical city of Ouidah, Ouidah is an ancient town from the Dahomey Kingdom in Southern Benin, in West Africa. it is a must seen place to go to and see how the local religion cohabitated very well with those religions imported through colonization.
Till this day, it still has an ancient and mystic feel. To gain access into the python temple, you pay a gate fee of 2000 CFA that’s approximately N1,350

The temple as it is in other religions is a place of worship for the VooDoo believers who account for about 60% of the Demography of Benin Republics population. It houses various gods and is the base for the yearly voodoo festival; similar to church conventions or Muslim pilgrimage, the Voodoo believers from Haiti, Cuba, Brazil and other countries converge at the temple for the festival on the 10th of January. There are various priests who offer sacrifices, cleansing rite and receive the offerings offered to the gods. The Chief priest is called the “Deh Agbota Gbato”.

So In one of our visit to the temple, we were in the home of the Royal Pythons called “The DAGBE” meaning the snake deity, at the door of a calabash-shaped house with over 50 ‘harmless‘ Pythons on the other side.

The Pythons are noticeably distinguished into two based on their Sexes/Sizes. The Female Pythons are called the Dagbe Kpohoun and The Male Pythons are called the Dagbe Dre.

In Honor of the Pythons, the voodoo people adorn Facial Marks which are similar to the ones on the heads of the Pythons. The marks serve as a form of identification. Nowadays, parents pay special offerings to the pythons to exclude their kids from getting Marks On.

This is an amazing place if you’re not afraid of snakes. The pythons are harmless.
It is a must experienced element of Benin. Stay tuned on this page as we bring you more historical facts about West Africa,
