Anything short of a win would have seen Arsenal lift the trophy for the first time in 20 years after the gunners defeated Everton. According to OwnGoalNigeria, at the front of Arsenal’s title charge was Bukayo Saka, an England international who is of Nigerian descent and had a remarkable run of playing in 87 consecutive games before the run came to an end in October, when he missed the game against Manchester City.

While browsing the travel section of a bookstore, I noticed a glaring gap – there were few resources about Nigeria, and those available were predominantly authored by non-Africans. This realization underscored the importance of Africans taking control of our own narratives and not allowing outsiders to define our stories. It was from this realization that the idea for the “Lagos Travel Guide” was born says Funke Ogunkoya-Futi, also known as Sassy Funke, a digital Travel Curator. Nigerians Express Discontent over Contrast Between Nigerian Correctional Service Hotel and Deteriorating Prison Conditions Around The Country

Nigerians have recently drawn comparisons between the Nigerian Correctional Service Hotel and the nation’s infamous correctional facilities. According to punchng.com, the 105-room hotel said to be an investment of the Correctional Service Multi-Purpose Co-operative Society, was inaugurated by the immediate past Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, in 2021. However, the sparkling pictures of the “investment” posted on the correctional service’s page, left many Nigerians wondering as to the irony of such building.
