My trip to Makoko community in Lagos Nigeria.

Recently,we went to Makoko, a coastal settlement across the Third Mainland Bridge, with a group of travel enthusiasts.
At between 300,000 and 500,000 residents, the settlement is reportedly the largest floating slum in the world. It wasn't our first time visiting the community, but it was still an incredible and humble experience.
Even though we was paying close attention to the neighborhood and its residents, we couldn't help but notice how many of them were responding negatively to the trip. It was the first time for the majority of them. While some tried to contain their awe, others tried to take it all in. Although the neighborhood has several difficulties, the most important ones are related to power, hygiene, and health.

The residents of Makoko community are content despite everything that life has thrown at them. To name a few attributes, they are also incredibly hardworking and hospitable. We would take this visit as a reminder of the things we frequently take for granted, if we could make any conclusions.
It all comes down to this: what you have and where you are is someone else's dream.
